Taito Type X2 issue

what is the front panel header for? I would like to use the front panel header for front panel purposes :), do they need to be connected to the daughter card at all?

There are two pins on the front panel that do need to be connected to the card. Without them, you will get I/O error from legit drives, but you might be ok just using the multi.
