What's new
Let me know when you find out the model #!
i found the board i have with a 915 chipset. buts its kinda my router. i should be doing a router upgrade soon so will try then

That's the PCI I/O
@deibit: Have you tried the PCI I/O board in a multigame system? I'm wondering what games it's compatible with since the RS485 to RS232 circuitry looks different (simpler) than the regular Taito I/O.
I didn't do an exhaustive test so far, but seems to work ok with the multis.

I'm setting up a new tx2 multi with this main board. I will then test all multi games.and report back.

Please don't test all the games on my behalf though, as long as it works OK with the Multi was all the info I was looking for.
It's really interesting though, would you mind taking a higher res pic of this marked area (front and back) of the board?

I want to try building it, as far as I can tell, it looks similar to this schematic.

Happy to help :)

I'm not sure about the resolution of this tinypic app

Is it's not enough then send me your email and I'll send you the file.

Picture is taken with an iphone6

@deibit: Thanks for the pics, I was hoping that it would be a simple and cheap circuit to build but after seeing the traces on the backside of the board, and how it's connected to that Renesas MCU, I think it's more trouble than it's worth.

@mltv: Worst case you could always just grab the Taito I/O board and use it with any PC with a Serial/COM port.

Headsup, I bought a 5 set lot of TEM100-01B motherboards (complete with cpu and RAM). I can boot up to the multigame menu! I will test it out in an actual cab later tonight.

In any case, the TEM100-01B mobo is the Type X2 Terminal motherboard (the TTX2 is Taito branded - otherwise they both look physically the same exact to me).

Ill report back if it works in the cab. If so, then we have a cheaper alternative when it comes to parts!

The tem100-01b is the toshiba OEM MB used in the tx2. Is normally not that cheap, normally is more than 250€ without anything.

I've never seen a cheap one, where did you score a lot of 5?

YJP. It was a lot of 3, and then I had my proxy ask if he had more - ended up with 5 total. 2x1gb of RAM included with each, complete with CPU, fan and even the backplates for the system ports. Cost me 20,000 YEN total (~200USD) from the seller. (Note, that does not include my fees for my proxy or the shipping - and the shipping was kinda a wash since I had some many other items coming in to me).

Nice score buddy, hope they work out

what a steal!!!

I bought for 10€ a Foxcomm Q965 Motherboard with external+internal serial port..

let's see if it works ;)

Btw, has anyone come up with a solution for the IO pcb? (the one that breaks out into sound/serial/whatever to the motherboard) I dont have any spares of that.

from what I understand, the part the IO connects to is a RS485 to RS232 serial converter. these can be found on eBay for very little.
from what

yep, that was the reason I bought these :) But, by the time I actually get around to it it will be ages. If someone actually makes the kit, keep me in mind!

there should be more than just the RS485 to RS232 converter, since the daughter board is also connected to the front panel header...

it has stuff that controls the 640x480 / 720p controls as well as a reset button. How it passes the resolution switch on to the games is unknown, or if it's even needed. If not, this converter is all we'll need.

can someone test that out?

Also, if you would like to sell one of those motherboards, I'd be a buyer.

So I dont think the dips are required, games will either default to 480p or 720p.
