Hiyall!

So I'm basically rebuilding an Astro City cab that was empty. No tube, no chassis, no power supply nor isolation transformer. It has been running with a Philips CRT and a mister inside of it and I set the goal of restoring it in order to run arcade games.

So far I got an step-down transformer (I live in Europe), an Hitachi tube (A68KSA30X), a Nanao MS9 chassis (with no connectors, so I'm about to order this) and a NVS 4000 PSU.

The PSU does have a loom, but I can't make much sense of it, I don't know how to feed power to the PSU from the step-down transformer and I'm not sure how to wire this loom for JAMMA nor how to power the monitor. And to make things worse, it appears that it has already been spliced.

Included below are pictures of everything: any help would be much appreciated, I feel I'm getting close to finally restore this cab to his former glory!

Your cab didn't even come with a power cord?

That's a big undertaking wiring up everything. The loom you have for the PSU is from some Model 3 game. You will have to re-do a big chunk of it for jamma.

My best advice is to look for a harness that is from an Astro.

It doesnt even have speakers :)
Alternatively, and while i scoop for an Astro City loom, could I just hook up whatever board to an standard arcade PSU, and hook up the MS9 straight to the AC 110V line from the stepdown converter? I would only need the AC IN and rgbs connectors from the chassis, right? Just to make sure the chassis and tube work as they should.

I guess this is the one I need, right? It's specified for a 400-5198 SEGA PSU.

That looks like the correct harness for an Astro.

You would still need to rewire some of it for a NVS-4000, but it is certainly more manageable than starting from scratch. I think there's a thread for it if you search for NVS-4000.

Thank you Nem, yes i'll browse for that thread. Also any recommendation for speakers?

I just bought some cheap Visaton ones for mine. I think jamma games sound crappy no matter what, but you do have the separate amp that you can use.

There are a ton of threads for advice. Just search for Astro speaker replacement.
