Hello!I have the same issue; hopefully someone sheds some light on it. I haven’t been able to really get the Aimtraks to work well with OpenJVS and they don’t appear as configured in the menu.
Hello!
WiPi doens't properly support how AimTraks work in OpenJVS - they're non standard controllers so they have to be handelled seperately.
https://github.com/OpenJVS/OpenJVS/blob/master/docs/openjvs/devices/ultimarc-aimtrak
You would find the device configuration file in /etc/openjvs/devices/ultimarc-aimtrak - you may have to ssh into the machine to edit it.
How accurate are the guns? Are they line of sight perfect?I picked up one of the Pandora's Box light gun setups, works great out of the box but I've been meaning to get it tested with this JVS adapter... too many projects, not enough time.

@bobbydilley how did you connect time crisis2 to (open)jvs / usb connector?

Thank you for sharing this information. I have a 31khz only monitor in my candy cab and wanted to know if the guncon 2 works with openJVS hat for the Naomi. When I have a crt? Do I still need sensors or does it work without sensors?Definitely works with just tapping csync as I've got it working that way with RGB-Pi in my NAC.
Buy the product you mentioned and I'm good to go?I believe this was endorsed by @bobbydilley and redone

If you use openjvs, you won't need the mp07 as openjvs replaces the need for a jvs io
I'm using an rs485 dongle to usb, since I missed jvs hat sales. So I just stumbled into this thread and seems I missed on the hat sales , my question is how can I get started to use openjvs on wipi netbooter? As in what devices I should buy and how to connect it set it up etc? I read the thread and saw a USB to rs485 dongle but if I purchase it how do I connect it to the naomi? Also I see on online a PCB called "JVS to USB Controller Adapter Based On MP07- IONA-US For TTX2 3/Sega Naomi 1 2" will this work if I purchase it and configure it? I know I asked many questions but I'm in dire need for help to complete the arcade setup for driving and gun games.
Thank you for reading and hopefully someone can help me.
I heard about the rs485 as a suggestion to connect a pc to an Astro city. I have a Sega io and wanted to hook it up to a pc.I'm using an rs485 dongle to usb, since I missed jvs hat sales.
It needs to work in tandem with a pi (wipi image works flawlessly with pi3 and 4), you will need to plug/screw or solder a wires on the pi (for "sensing jvs") and to the usb to rs485 (the one I have has screw terminals)
BTW, I was very surprised with the response time/lag with this pi solution (pi4 and brook ufb board based arcade stick), I feel it's faster than using the capcom converter (tested on a crt tv and oled+retrotink4k)
That's false. The Sega IO has support for nine buttons and works fine with any Capcom fighting game.
Thank a for the help.note that the sega io won't provide the cps2 kck harness port and supports for 6buttons games like CvS2, SFZero3 etc, you will need the capcom converter for that.
is your astro jamma only or do you have usb encoders for inputs?
