What's new
Okay, my apologies @misteraddons , @ImportantBet. I didn't mean to come on strong in my last post. I just tried it on my HAS using a consumer crt and yeah it looks great. I Just don't understand how there could be that drastic of a difference between the two mistercades without changing anything. I haven't had it look that crazy between any of my pcbs, maybe a minor brightness and the usual h/v pos.

The first pic is the v1 and the second is the v2.

Id look at altering the focus on your flyback aswell to see if that has a positive outcome. Ive noticed in my aeros/astros they all need slighlty different tunning with different feeds, CPS2, mister, CPS3 all needed slight movement.

I’ll get better pictures for you to see how similar it is Monday. Luckily I have a blast city and Astro city coming in next week. I will test to see if the video has the same issues.
Also I will test on my neo 29 candy

I also have the same issue the colors look smeared and bleed when outputting through the jamma edge however when connected to the vga header the picture is perfect

I have a blast city with a tri sync chsssis. I have no problems with my irken jamma expander through jamma edge fwiw

I'm kind of glad someone else has the issue, but not so glad at the same time. I've tested it over VGA and it looks great. I'm getting the feeling the HAS was doing something to clean it up with the jamma edge. I've tested it on my Windy with an ms9 and it looks better but the v1 is noticeably sharper. I need to get out to the garage and test with the k7000's but I can't for a couple days.

100% tried that and a bunch of stuff before posting here. I just recapped and reflowed this ms8. While the image isn't perfect it looks really good with very minimal adjustments on everything else I've hooked up.

Wow this is exactly what’s happening with mine. Do you see that blue hue around the character image? Also the picture appears out of focus when in motion.

My MS8 does that with real CPS3 hardware. I found a post that suggested adding resistors inline with rgb and sync to attenuate the signal. I did that and it helped, but I also ended up swapping it to an MS9. The MS8 is really bad for changing between games. No contrast adjust, pincushion is on the chassis, having to swap between narrow and wide.

I upgraded from a Mistercade 1.1 and the image looks significantly dimmer on a Mistercade 2.0 when going through the JAMMA edge.

yeah its weird how it seems less agregious in the picture

@ShootTheCore is it possible that these issues are unique to the nanao monitors?

Testing on my ms9 chassis like I said looks way better. Something is not friendly with the ms8 for some reason.

I beta tested Rev 2 on two MS9 monitors and didn’t notice much difference between Rev 1 and Rev 2 MiSTercades.

Everyone that’s seeing a lighter or darker picture should try adjusting the RGB attenuation pots on the Rev 2 - they may just be set to a different resistance than how they’re set on the Rev 1 you upgraded from.

That's what I was trying to highlight in my last post (pics of v2 on ms9). On the ms9 it is far less apparent and not a big issue but on an ms8 it is very much in your face.

Has adjusting the RGB pots on the MiSTercade V2 made any difference with your MS8?

I have not. I was curious if anyone else was experiencing the same thing or if I was oveelooking something. I've tried everything suggested here and I think it's just an issue with ms8's. Curious if it has to do with the way video is handled now and the ms8 is just touchy about it. I'll reach out to @misteraddons. No one should get any of this twisted, this is an amazing product and I love it. This is my 3rd mistercade and I will always support their products. It works great on everything else I've used it with.

Is the SS switch toggled on, per chance? Maybe that will have some effect.
