MiSTercade is back and it's better than ever!

What's new:

  • 24-Bit Video Output: The new version supports 24-bit color video, enhancing the visual experience with richer and more accurate colors compared to its predecessor. PSX, Saturn, and N64 cores currently benefit from this upgrade!
  • Enhanced Control Interface: Updated controls that support 8 buttons per player, catering to a wider range of arcade games, including those requiring more complex input schemes (Saturn, PSX, and N64). Buttons 7 and 8 are accessible on the Joystick 20 pin header for each player.
  • Improved Coin Counter Circuit: The coin counter circuit has been optimized for better reliability and accuracy, ensuring precise tracking of in-game credits.
  • Integrated Breakout Headers: The MiSTercade Versus and joystick harness breakout headers are now combined into a single, streamlined board, simplifying the setup process and reducing clutter inside the arcade cabinet.
  • HDMI DAC with Dual SDRAM Support: By utilizing an HDMI DAC, the MiSTerCade V2 can run cores that require or will require two SDRAM modules. This feature currently supports games like Smash TVand Total Carnage, with potential for future core expansions.
  • Cute OLED Display: View real-time controls and input history for Player 1!
  • Improved bottom plate: Features a cut-out for easy micro SD card access! It's a simple, yet important, improvement.
  • Aluminum top plate: Now, even more rugged.
All arcade games (and most console games) have been pre-mapped. There's now an update repository that will run through update_all to fetch new mappings!

Order before August 25th, 2024 and receive a free MiSTercade Remote V2!

Ive had to organise my own collection to the UK as Mr Mister is having issues with our customs so unable to offer shipping atm.

Yes, sorry, I'm currently disputing a VAT charge with the UK, so I paused shipping.

Has anyone run into any display issues with the v2? I finally got it to display on my astro via the jamma edge but it looks super bright and the colors are all off and bleeding. It makes the text display really poorly. Verified my v1 looks sharp and crisp on the same cab. Tried adjusting the RGB pots but no luck and put them back at default. Tried my v1 sd but it didn't work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The video levels on MiSTercade V2 are the same as MiSTercade V1, so I'm not sure what the issue could be with your monitor.
Adjusting the RGB pots didn't help at all?
Which cabinet is this for?

This is in an astro city. I've been using the v1 in it without issue. The v2 has been a bit finicky with video output. If I just swap my sd from one to other I get nothing on screen. No, the rgb pots didn't help, I can see the changes but it didn't resolve it.

The first pic is the v1 and the second is the v2.

I just did the swap as a test, I'm using a completely different sd card for the v2. I have been reading your v2 guide and github over and over prior to this. Would you mind checking out my ini for me? I linked it but had to change the extension from ini just to upload it.

Yeah, that looks fine. What happens when you adjust your monitor's remote pots, and the MiSTercade pots? It looks like it's blooming. Also, which version of MiSTercade V1 do you have? V1.0, V1.1, V1.2, or V1.3?

I get what you guys are saying but that is the same monitor, it's an ms8 so no contrast pot. If I lower the brightness it gets dim, not good. The two pics are just swapping the mistercades with zero adjustment. If the video levels are the same it should be good I would assume. The v1 is a v1.1 @misteraddons. I shouldn't have to adjust the gains, most pcbs and the v1 are fine with the current pot settings, nothing else looks bloomed like the v2. Pardon my ignorance @ImportantBet but what does the ABL do?
