We got a new ide to USB adapter and while we have a different ATA id, between pingu and rockman they still come up identical.

How do I do the hex dump?

Without the ata switch it defaults to thinking the device is scsi

Try the new version with the -x command ? Then you will get the Information Section with some details.

No need to enable SMART for the cards.
