Edit: I ended up not getting this cabinet because it was too deep for my floor space, so I got a Harley Davidson L.A. Riders 29" sit down instead.
Next month I will be picking up a Wild Riders. This is not the Naomi Universal cabinet (which I'll admit is way nicer), but the US sit down cabinet that a few of you may remember seeing in Walmarts and Chuck E. Cheese's.
The cabinet has all but the Naomi 2 board and cart, and has a nice WG 9400 like the one in the picture. I have had the Naomi 2 cart for a while, and while I like playing it on my MP07-IONA-US with a steering wheel and pedals, I've never even got to experience this with the push-pull handlebar mechanism.

I noticed the back of the cabinet is quite roomy! Once I get the Naomi 2 up and running, I also plan to install a shelf in the cabinet that houses additional PCBs, like Harley Davidson L.A. Riders Model 3. The board cage is about 15x17x5 inches (LxWxH), which is significantly larger than an N2, so I think a shelf would be best.
To get at least the Model 3 running, I would theoretically need to:
  • Use a VGA extension (the WG D9400 in this cab does DSUB15 and supports 24khz)
  • Connect JVS power to Model 3 filter board with an adapter
  • RCA audio to 4 pins (GND, Left, GND, Right, from 1-4)
  • Lastly, for controls, connect the two JVS IO connectors from the Sega IO to two IDC Breakout boards like the ones here (26 pin and 60 pin): https://www.winford.com/products/br...4wTI-1hUWknFwDUZve7jbq3cuAyQA22h1dX33usMyTAHy
Harley Davidson has more controls in the cabinet, like the shifter, but the handlebars between that and Wild Riders look to be nearly compatible with each other, sans the bracket itself. Either way, I'd be willing to compromise the shifter and use the push-pull controls for changing view and music.

Does anybody else own this same cabinet for Wild Riders? Tell me some things about it like taking the cab apart, or your experiences with it. The game itself is very fun to me, albeit short and very linear, but the 'daily scoreboard' feature in the Naomi 2 makes replayability worthwhile, though I do intend to make this cabinet a multi-game machine like I have done with my other sit down cab.

Decided on setting up additional boards in this cabinet by putting them on a loose, adjustable 1-tier shelf, instead of mounting them to the sidewalls.
I would rather not run the risk of protruding and ruining the art in this cabinet by drilling holes, as this cab looks to be in very good condition for its age.

The seller told me the Naomi 2 in the cab was dead, but in the attached picture the JVS IO was getting power itself. Would this be an indicator the PSU is still ok?
Thankfully it is the original Sun PSU and the harness does not appear to be hacked.

More to come soon on the journey.

Definitly check the voltages first. N2 is possibly dead because of overvolting it.
Yeah, I was going to bring my N2/cart and meter along to check if the PSU voltages ok. It's a little easier to do with a Naomi than Model 2/3. I do have a VGA cable without pin 9 too as I know the ground line likes to explode on Naomi filter boards when connecting a full VGA cable to certain CRTs.
