Then a harness like the one you sent should be good, one thing is that u may need an external power supply as typically the jamma edge doesnt give enough powerYes it’s wired for jamma
The VF game boards pull too much current for the tiny JAMMA edge finger. The model 2 is looking for 5v power on about 15 pins on the filter board and just as many to ground. So I need a power supply for the board too ?
So I’m going to need the model 3 harness in order for this to work I have a sega new Astro city wired for jamma I have no issues playing my Naomi on here when hooked to the capcom IOThe VF game boards pull too much current for the tiny JAMMA edge finger. What power supply do you have in your NAC ?
True, that's why people usually seek out the NVS-4000 power supply.5v at 7a? Is that really enough to run a Model2 board? That amperage seems low to me.
So i would need a filter board with this wire too ?Your best bet might be to get a harness that can bring these 5v and ground lines to the filter board.
All of the controls, RGBS, and mono sound can be handled by the JAMMA connector with this thing you pictured:
You don't have one of these with your board set ? (not my image)So i would need a filter board with this wire too ?
@Krec9 Both that filter board and the shape of the main-board indicate that is a Model2b. VF2b runs on a Model2a board, which uses a different main board, a separate video board, and a different filter board. Can you take a picture of the ROM board so we can identify the game?
@Segafan1985 Theoretically, yes. The 2a would only use the two power connectors circled in green here on CN3 and CN12.
