This little mod brings the music back during the attract mode for Tekken 4 like the PS2 version.

Here's a video of it :

Made by @Franco23444.

The only thing remaining is to implement the fade out,you can consider this as a 1.0 but I am in the process of finding out how this could be done.

If someone wants to help in this then feel free to contact me!

Update 1:
As of today 10/18/2024 the mod has been updated!

It now includes a music fade out just like the ps2 version!

I thought it was strange there was no music during the attract mode. I'd love to see this happen.

Is this how Tekken 1 and Tekken 2 behave in attact mode? My PCBs I turn on "sound during attract mode" in the test menu - but then when the demo runs there is no music when they are fighting. I wonder if that setting just refers to the opening FMV playing sound or not?

From Tekken 1 through 4 it was always like this.
I believe it was a design choice since the console counterparts have stage music during attract mode, also "Sound during attract mode" does not refer to stage music, rather it's the FMV's sound and character voices/sfx.

That's great, it's no longer muted, thanks everyone.
I renamed the dongle .bin to .ps2, then used the N1158 - ps2 memory card readerwriter.exe tool to write it to the PS2 memory card, inserted it into the PS2, entered wluanchELF, replaced the TK4GAME file, and finally used the N1158 - ps2 memory card readerwriter.exe tool to read it from the ps2 memory card and save it as a .ps2 file, renamed it to .bin, and then wrote it with the multi-dongle.

Am I unable to do this mod without a "multi-dongle" and some type of ps2 memory card adapter for the PC? Multi-dongles are hard to come by correct? Sorry newb on this subject.

This is a very complicated question. If you don't have multiple dongles, I don't recommend you try it.

I have some dongles to spare. i think some are bootleg. I just thought I needed a special dongle called a multi dongle. But sounds like a standard PS2 memory card wont work.
