Spinner Joystick Pre-Order

A second run sounds great! I missed the first round, so would be in for the second batch for sure.

No bother, but I need the depth for those in MM. I don't have my set anymore.

I think they should have, but I don't wanna lie to you.

Need depth from top of mounting plate, to bottom of lowest point.....and if the shaft pushing down the spoon switch is the lowest point, I need that measurement with the spoon switch depressed.
Would the info on page 1 of this thread cover it, or not enough detail?

I would also be interested in a spinner. Is it compatible/adaptable with Ghox?
What is the pinout used please ?

no, Ghox uses a tiling spinner... so it's essentially an up-down joystick plus a spinner.

the Capcom spinner is more like a push button+ spinner.
I thought Capcom game used all directions, but it’s a spinner + button and a joystick.
I’m looking for a working Ghost spinner.

Different gears as in different shape, or different material? The 1st batch of spinner gears is a perfect replacement for original spinners.
the different shape some GEARs.
Awesome work @hursit! I think the big thing is to definitely provide replacement parts this time, last run that was a major critique of the project!

Can you confirm as asked above if these new gears will work in the original Capcom spinners?

Also, I thought the first run did fit in an Egret 2/3 cab, were they too big? If so, I guess I have a pair of the old ones to sell b/c I bought them for my E2 cab and didn't realize they don't fit!
I remember it can fit in Astro but barely. This one will fit better.
@hursit - Chief, those look very nice.

I'll take a look on the measurements for the E2/3/AWSD, Capcom Cute, and AC/NAC today.

If they fit, and you're going to get spare parts this run, I'm DEFINITELY interested

Regarding the spare parts, I would suggest the plastic gears, the fan gear, the two spinner shafts, those spoon-levered micro-switches, the bushings/clips, and DEFINITELY that spring, and maybe even the actual aluminum spinner top.

If any of the spare parts, are off the shelf hardware, we can source those on our own....but if I grab a pair of spinners this time, I'd ideally be looking for 4 spares of each gear, shaft, spring, bushing, and microswitch.....and possibly two tops.

That way I could rebuild each one of them, twice down the line, or if I ever did have to sell things, the buyer could rebuild them if needed.

I feel this would be a good fit for any arcade operators looking to make a Forgotten Worlds cab too, so they would have spares, as public play places are so much more brutal on equipment.

Ready to help get this thing moving! :D
This time i will try for the replacement parts.
I remember it wasn't fit inside mini cute. I have already recorded some video on 3d Design. It should be in this thread somwehere.
But tomorrow, i will test the new design Spinner too.

ok, i couldn't wait until morning , and made some tests.
It looks like fit inside the mini cute. But i always prefer the real tests.

Yeah, the Short version will absolutely fit the Cute....the question will be can you get a full 2p forgotten worlds setup in one panel, or would it have to be 1p only?

Not sure about that, and may not be much demand for it honestly, but worth finding out, as time permits.

Would the info on page 1 of this thread cover it, or not enough detail?

So @ 73mm depth, I would say there is likely room...but like Hursit said on the AC/NAC....barely.

There are supports that are carved out on the E3 panel-lower section, that MAY get in the way....so that would be the only catch.

However, if the new spinners are running different sized gears, that wont be drop-in on the old spinners, it's gonna be up to you, on whether the new ones would be better suited, both due to depth, and spare parts.

Not my call to make.

Thank you! I'll have to dig them out of the box and do a real world test it seems. Hell, I'll buy some new ones too! Why not!

PCB arrived today and i have made some tests.
PCB recognize the PC and mame but i couldn't configure it on mame. Is there anyone in here tested my old PCB on mame before ?

@Derick2k created a add-on pcb for me to work the spinner on PC with the joystick. But i dont know why, 8 Way sanwa joystick is not working anymore.
Im not good at programming. If anyone help me about it to work with Joystick on the PC emulation and mister, will be great.

This is the Extender Add-on PCB

Somebody created a new firmware on misterfpga forum.

I use this code with a pro micro board.

https://github.com/CraigB-spinner/Arcade-Spinner

Works just fine - essentially turns the spinner (and trackball) into a mouse. I just use some dupont connectors from the pro micro directly to the spinners pcb.

Works via mister and mame. In mister, I did have to adjust the speed for arkanoid.
can you help me about the Mame settings especially ?
i couldnt make it work for Forgotten Worlds
it is always turning to 2 direction, not working well

Here are the menu settings. The spinner button, can't figure that out. Pretty sure when I set up the code, I disabled buttons as I was playing arkanoid exclusively.

thanks for the info, but it seems my firmware is not working well

im looking for somebody to help me to create Firmware+PCB Project for Spinner.
