So maybe can someone help me out a little as I’m looking into something

Basically the stv mobo is a full on Sega Saturn minus the lesser audio chip I believe as Sega Saturn run the audio data straight from the disc

I know the cards don’t hold as much as a disc and do compression on audio and no fmv etc but with the tech we have now isn’t it possible to load Sega Saturn data into the STV with like the multi cards ? If you run a Sega Saturn with the sd card etc the loading is always limited by the cd buffer .so you always have loading screens and time .

Maybe if we can put Sega Saturn games in stv we can maybe have higher textures and no more loading screens ?

@Darksoft maybe you can chip in and or other tech people :)

Thx

Im sure that all games would either have to be hacked or the calls to the chrome would need to be captured both for data and audio. Its more complicated than it seems, but I'd like to hear what other tech people have to say....

If you'd like to get into the minutia of this, check out the work on the Mister's Saturn core and the differences between it and the STV core that is currently being worked on, based on the Saturn core.

Video Game Esoterica goes over the differences and some of what has to happen to make the STV core work over what was done for the Saturn.

From what I gathered, it would be significantly more involved than getting Atomiswave games working on the Dreamcast....and that was a big project on its own.

Valid.
ST-V is superior. Storage was limited.
I would like to see the soundtracks for saturn ports be backported to STV.

Programming isn't my talent.
They are a bit different as pointed out above.
Possible, as a passion project for some one.
