I bought a RE2 last year with the intention of being a fun, cheap multi to do for some friendlies. I've had no luck in getting games to boot with Niko's Multi though so I was looking for any suggestions on things I could do. I've tried new ram, cleaning the GPU and ram edges and connectors, various HDDs for the multi with no luck so far. What happens is that the multi boots, inputs are quite laggy and unresponsive, and booting any game will briefly show it then crash back to the menu. The game it came with seems to work fine as far as I'm able to play it so I don't think there's anything wrong with the unit itself. The game is one of the Mahjong games so I can't get very far without a touch panel. The only game that seems to boot with some reliability is Under Defeat HD, but it's unresponsive to any inputs. There was a brief period where I got games booting and playing fine, but that was short-lived for only a session.

What JVS I/O board are you using?

I haven’t, but I don’t know how to set something like that up.

Have you tried something like a Sega or Taito JVS I/O?
Okay, I did some research on setting one up. If you think it's a fix, I'll go ahead and track one down and see how that goes.

I just got it in today and want to thank you for the suggestion. I got a Rev B Sega type and it works perfectly now. I'll file a bug report with the IONA one at least and maybe that'll get fixed in the future.

Late bump but as of the recent Iona firmware update I can confirm it is fully working with the ringedge 2 multi now.
