Hey All,

I was meant to pick up my Sega Blast City chassis from John at PNL this morning and he informed me that his building caught fire on Thursday. I know many of us rely on his repairs and expertise. I’m not sure where he goes from here and what the community does. I don’t want to speak for him but I can ask him what he plans to do when I meet with him tomorrow.

I was going to add some pictures but they’re too large and I’m posting this from my phone. I’ll try to post them when I get home.

He did have quite a few customer boxes in the cab of his truck, I hope no one lost anything in the fire. My board was damaged and the VGA board was snapped in half.

Maybe we should start up a GoFund me to help him out. I know he's helped A LOT of us in this hobby. This is a real bummer. I almost sent him 9 chassis last week....so unreal.
I support this but am also very new to the community and don’t want to look disingenuous. I’ll post picks when I get home and let y’all decide how you want to proceed. He told me he was on the verge of quitting after the fire but knows a lot of people rely on him.

Not sure if it’s true but I heard from his neighbor that it can take up to 8 months for the business to get back up and running.

This is beyond horrible news. There are already so few shops to fix crts.

Yikes! This is terrible! 😞 I’m glad that John is doing alright! My Wei ya chassis for the Crisis Zone is there

Depends on so many things, like how extensive is the fire damage. Is the building habitable for business use? Is it completely gone?

Although I have never used his services, I know those that have and based on their experiences I would totally donate if he sets up a go fund me to help start up his business again.

I don't know how to make the pictures smaller. I keep getting an error informing me that the files are too big.

Okay, this is what I know. I apologzie for rampling but my wife wants me off the computer.

His neighbor Mario who was there when I was with John and is extremly kind told me that he was working late and slept in his business that night. He woke up coughing in the middle of the night and noticed a ton of smoke. He quickly called the cops and got up to leave his business and passed out, they had to rush him to the hospital. Luckily, Mario called in time and the firefighters were able to put the fire out before it burned the whole building down.

A majority of the items in the shop were either burned, stepped on and destroyed (firefighters) or are wet. John did enter the building this morning and removed as many customer orders as he could. As I mentioned earlier, the cab of his truck had about 15-20 boxes, all intact and not burnt.

I informed John that I can wait for him to repair my board since it had new damage done to it after completion. He was entering the building and removing more items when I was leaving. I saw him removing the tube he uses for testing purposes.

I plan on meeting with him tomorrow and can ask him additional questions if anyone has any. Feel free to let me know if anyone plans on starting a gofundme. I can inform him and let him know that the community is behind him.

The VGA board and bracket on my 2930 was completely crushed. Does anyone have a lead on where I can find one? John told me he'll give me one if he can find one in the rubble.
