Grab the manual - its all in there!
ThanksGrab the manual - its all in there!
start with the manual, which mentions you'll need a Trendnet TU-S9 usb to serial cable/adapter. Check the "advanced" section on page 13 for pinout and "I bought a straight through female serial connector cable, cut it in half and crimped a JST NH connector on the end."Now i just need to understand how card reader emulation works.....

edit: lol ... we're all doing the same thing at the same time
You don't need the NFC card reader at all - you can just hook up the serial cable to the naomi and switch cards, etc. all through the web interface. @chunksin did a great job with the visuals for the cards - its pixel perfect! Thanks
I read it.
So if i understand correctly, i need this
USB-Serial adaptor from the usb port of the Raspberry

with the serial cable that will go into the naomi jst port (where now you connect the real card reader)

using the pinout into the manual
Then i need the NFC card reader and cards, if i want to "simulate" the real cards i use in the original card readers

Is this NFC card reader necessarly, or i can use the emulator mode into the wipi and store them into the raspberry?
thanks for the clarificationYou don't need the NFC card reader at all - you can just hook up the serial cable to the naomi and switch cards, etc. all through the web interface. @chunksin did a great job with the visuals for the cards - its pixel perfect!
The NFC card is cool because you have something physical - but obviously the card data isn't visible.
It won't ever happen - but it would be amazing to have an e-ink NFC card (or have it available on a mobile) so you could have both the physical AND the visual.
Matt
You can set up multiple readers on one rpi - I think @Franco23444 had 4 set up for his setup.I'm finalizing everything and i already attach my twin machine to one rasp with wipi in server mode.
Everything is ok but i'm thinking about the card reader question in this case....
Does one raspberry alone be able to manage two card readers (for the left and for the right side of the twin)?
Or i have to necessary have two rasp, one for each machine with a card reader attached to every raspberry?
In that case where i need to have to raspberry in two machines, how do you manage them (netbooter.local will be the same for both wipi's)....
This is also the truth when i will attach my new net city with wipi too....how to manage every single wipi?
Oh really, well that's great then. You can set up multiple readers on one rpi - I think @Franco23444 had 4 set up for his setup.
Regarding multiple wipi's - I suspect there is somewhere where you can change the name of the device, but not sure offhand.
what did you use to write it ?!and write to SD insert on raspi 3B+
I tried Etcher and Win32DiskImager...what did you use to write it ?!
Yes I see two partitions. The first boot with folders and files and the second won't let me log in from windows.if you open your microsd on a computer, do you see multiples files?
Yes I added empty reset file and restarted Pi but from mobile wi-fi search still can't find anything...if so can you write a blank "reset.txt" file in the root and boot again (only the pi) to try again?
Is this work to create SO microSD manually for raspy?
ok these works and I see your files so you really should be good to go.I tried Etcher and Win32DiskImager...

Weird that you're not seeing the wifi. In your shoes I would question the wifi on the Rasberry pi.
Do you have a wifi usb dongle you could plug in it and try again? or another pi perhaps?
helloThis is what I would recommend - I have had a rpi where the wifi hardware just died....
Don't know why but i had the same issue as you.Hi
hello
I checked if there was a fault in the wifi card, for testing I rewrote sd with Raspberry Pi OS image and enabled connection to wi-fi router and it worked.
here is what i do:
1) I turn on Naomi+Netdimm ( IP address 10. 0. 0. 2)
2) I connect network cable (Naomi+Raspy).
3) I turn on the Raspy (Power 5v 3A 15W).
I see the 2 Leds flashing, then from smartphone I search wireless network;
By default, WiPi Netbooter is set to Hotspot Direct mode but can't find.
where do i go wrong? Can I interface via SSH with Putty from PC? No HDMI signal with monitor from Raspy.
I apologize if these are simple things for you and thanks to anyone who can help me.
regards.
Hi glstarThen i get the 8gb image and that one worked...
So i then use the normal (bigger) image to get the additional files from and i simply mixed both sd card (the 8gb and the bigger).
In that way i got a functional complete sd card.
Hi Mrhide, well I can't seem to be able to get the ID3 card emulator to LOAD a card:
Is there anybody able to load a card in the ID3 card emulator in WIPI when the game asked for it?
- passes the boot process
- ok in all test modes.
- can buy a card, play and eject.
can't load a card once creatededit ok so @winteriscoming says in his first script:"You have to restart the script to change cards. It should be possible to restart the script during game over mode, but do it quickly as sometimes there is random communication between the game and the reader, and it will give an error if it doesn't get a response back in time"
so the trick is to insert the card BEFORE the game ask you and then it works. sure enough, it kills the process and starts a new one.
(in multi-card reader build
- same but fails load in tests.)
