Hey ! got a working MS-2933 ( thx @kuze ) as a replacement for my beloved Windy 2 ( same Toshiba tube as my Nanao 2931 driven Blast City)

i knew it's a different Yoke and that i would need to calibrate everything. !

It boots ok but i can't get the H size to fill the screen. Everything is maxed out in the Service menu ( H size and H size limit)

tried to mess with the H drive pot on the chassis with zero improvement...

Didn't mess with b+ and flyback pot yet.

read the ms-2931 manual a few times ! Can't find the R-SHIFT ajustement in the service menu ...? Does it even exist ? :P

Any clue where to look at ?

thx !

When I was running a MS2933 in a Windy 2 it filled the screen but I had to max out the H size in service menu.

If that's not sufficient in your case, then I'd recommend checking with 'grantspain' on Arcade Otaku. He's pretty knowledgeable on this stuff and helps a lot in the Monitor tech section. I don't think he's here on A-P but other users may have tips as well.

thanks! Also posted on AO !

i read that messing with the D drive pot was not a good idea ! I hope i didn't screw up :P

I had this issue on my ms2930 had my h pot maxed out on chassis and on the remote board ended up being the hv pot on the chassis . Just had to turn it down just a hair and I got all my adjustment back. There’s also a jumper on the ms2930 that switches from narrow to wide. I don’t have a clue if It’s the same for ms2933

most ajustment on the 2931 and 2933 are made via the OSD. There isn't any adjustment pots on the chassis other than H drive , HV ajust , B+ and XPro. There is no jumper on the 2931 and 2933 unfortunately.

managed to get full screen with recalbox RGB jamma pbc, atomiswave PCB, some Mister arcade cores ( CPS2 CPS1 , Batrider) !!!!

I can't get full screen for PGM games and Mister Cave cores.

Will try adjusting b+ and flyback strenght /focus but i'm not really sure if it can really help for this issue.

Let's see some pics of that cab back up and running in full glory!!

You can turn down HV adjust for a bigger (and slightly more out of focus) picture.
You mean the siliconed pot on the chassis ? High voltage adjust ?

Not a great pic !! Calibration is way off ! (focus , Colors , etc) my friend @Mrhide will help me for final calibration

New issue : managed to make an adaptor for the “so tiny” degauss switch connector on the 2933 ( same as 2932)
Degauss doesn’t work .
Tried to degauss via the OSD and nothing happens …

Any clue ?

Thx

I am sorry if I hijack the thread. MS-2933 chassis is it the latest tri freq rev about the blast tube? Is it more reliable than MS-2930 manual and MS-2931 auto? Does it leak from the little cube part?

MS-2933 is the updated MS-2931: almost the same. Not sure if it's more reliable. It does leak (black goop). My 2933 was cleaned before i bought it.

Small update: Geometry and color calibration was succesfully done with the help of the great @Mrhide .

b+ was ajusted to correct voltage,
We didn't mess with the High voltage ajustment. ( should we ? )

those 2 problems remain;

1) Maximum H size is not enough for most PCB i own, both 15 and 31khz PCB sources. H size for some Mister cores (example batrider) and my Recalbox RGB Jamma emulator pcb is ok ( does it output a wider image than Cave games ??? )

2) The CRT degauss is working on startup but it doesnt work throught both the service menu and the degauss button switch. Can it be a faulty relay on the Chassis. It's not a big deal but i would like to make it 100% fonctional .

Any Clue ? @nem suggested to turn down HV ajust but i dont have the tools to test high voltage stuff...
Is there any capacitor related to H size that could be replaced ?
Is there any Windy 2 owner with nanao 2931 or 2933 with the same issue ? @cruzlink2 ?

any help would be highly appreciated !

thx

Simon

Does anyone know if the plastic tray from the original Toshiba chassis is interchangeable with the Nanao MS29? I have a MS2933 ready for this but it is missing the plastic tray and metal frame.
