Just got this home today and giving it a detailed cleaning and once over before I fire it up.

Holy crap, this is about the nicest condition game I own now. Just beautiful. Many thanks to seller, I'll leave some feedback after I get a few games in. 8)

Now to do some reading on the differences between this setup and Point Blank (besides being VGA) so hopefully I can make up some adapter harnesses to swap back and forth.

Let me know what you come up with. I just won one at the auction an hour ago.

I'm assuming since PB is JAMMA and NA is JVS, it's going to be wire up two cabinets' worth of guts.

Guess i'll throw in here for @kspiff and @rewrite that I have some complete ninja assault cart/amp/io sets, including wiring, if either of you want backups of parts. I'd need to dig throgh the boxes, but they are here somewhere.

From memory this runs on NAOMI through JVS, it has a custom Namco board the VGA is passed through for the gun to work. It's a very different setup to Point Blank which runs on Namco system... 22? Hardware with a JAMMA connection and a 48 pin Namco connection (not sure if this is for gun input or what)

I'll know for sure what/if mine is missing come Monday or Tuesday when I pick it up (too much rain now). Maybe you can sneak whatever into the Megalo for shipping if need be, haha.

@bagheera369 Yeah, I snagged a 27". There was also a 39" CRT bastardized monstrosity of a Ninja Assault for sale today too.

It's non-working, but the cab is in really solid condition and the monitor gets power. So it's either wiring issues or the Naomi itself (or maybe both the speakers are blown AND the chassis is dead, but that seems unlikely), if I had to hazard a guess at this stage.

I do have the EMI breakout board with my Point Blank set, which routes the I/O via a bunch of Molex mini fit connections. So the task will be to make adapters that let me connect the cabinet components' existing mini connectors to the PB pinouts.

I am thinking I will probably need to build out a whole tray to swap with the existing Naomi tray. I do not want to hack up the original cabinet and while the terminal component wiring is similar, the I/O stuff couldn't be more different.

In the end if I can only play Ninja Assault in this cab that is also fine.

Waiting on a crap load of Namco gun parts from various sources right now. Hopefully Betson will come through with the bearing slides, otherwise I'll have to mic what I have and order bearings online somewhere.

I got some NOS Namco guns from these guys. they have pretty reasonable pricing. https://www.arcadespareparts.com/arcade_parts/shooting_parts.html

They are definitely worth checking out. Not sure about the Taxes going into the states.

Ya know I looked at those guns. And was wondering about the quality and if parts are the same.

I ask because the guns pictured have an extra screw on the handle. If I zoom in reeeeeal close they also look like they say namEo instead of namCo lol. Trigger molding is different. And Hong Kong.

If the internals are identical I could have bought one or two for that stuff. But at this point I've bought enough spares probably.

There is so much rust from sweat getting into the bottom of the guns haha. Yuck.

The guns I bought for my TC2 cab are definitely legit Namco NOS guns. I have bought a lot of parts from these guys. Everything is from Japan that I've bought. Samwa sticks and buttons, TTX2, Namco Noir 2 Player CP, and these guns. The do sell a bunch of generic stuff too. They are part of a larger company that supplies arcade equipment to Australia. Highway Entertainment Group.

P.S. if you look a bit further down the list you'll see the legit guns. they are about $130 more expensive.

Oh, yeah, now I see them.

That is a pretty reasonable price. Contemplating just grabbing one or two of each. I'm also hoping to pick up a TC2 soon.

I do like these black guns. 8) But the shell halves and trigger are worn. :/

Was fortunate enough over time to pick up about 8 working guns....shell parts arent all perfect, but I've got one really nice set, and only plan on having one gun cab...so the other 6 guns are just for spares...4 of em came from auction in dfw, where I got 2 complete TC2 cabs for $2.28 USD. All the cabs are gone...but I have TC2/3 IO boards for days, along with TC2 boards.
