Namco Classics Vol 1 & Vol 2 ND-1 conversions

I’m just wondering if it’s possible to convert a Namco’s ND-1 boards from Vol 2 to Vol 1 games or vice versa? Has anyone done this? Is this just swapping the socketed EPROMs?

I have two Vol 2 boards and want to convert the other to a Vol 1. Both boards are ND-1 Game (B)

no. the boards are slightly different, but in addition to the socketed ROMs there is also additional SMD ROMs as well as a unique KeyCus (Security chip).

It's possible that the keycus could be patched out (Hammy and Apoc has patched out the Keycus on other Namco games of this era) but I don't know of anyone that has made such patched ROMs or if the hardware differences are such to prevent or make conversion more difficult.

Would be cool to have some kind of “multi” to switch between vol 1 & vol 2 all on one board.
