Some great projects here, I`d like to share mine also.
Spent most of 2017 on my second cab, last one was a weecade looking bartop with a tron theme in 2012.
I decided to push my own limits this time with my own unique design and to try and incorporate some different materials and methods into the build.
I`d seen some perspex signs somewhere where the perspex was lit from the edge and any engraving really stood out. I had to have this somewhere in the build.
I wanted it to be see through so you could see all the workings, mostly for cool factor but also to push me to really do some tidy wiring on the inside with all custom cables and sleeving, all made by myself.
As i knew it would take over 12 months cost wasn't an issue and i`d spend whatever it took to build the best i`d ever built. It cost nearly £2000 to complete but well worth it in my opinion.
This is the finished piece below, i`ll do my best to explain the build.
So i started with a rough sketch shown below.
And proceeded to purchase some 18mm ply
I kerfed the two sides and completed the bottom section
I now had the basic shape that i`d invisioned and was happy that all my components would fit ( or so i thought)!!
I`d chosen a dell monitor 26 inch widescreen that i knew would remember its power off state!!
This is a roughly put together with monitor and speakers in
I`ll carry on with this thread tomorrow, on nights tonight..
Don`t know if this link will work but here are all the pictures.
