FS MP07-IONA-US JVS/USB I/O Board v3.11: Worldwide Sales & Troubleshooting Thread

For Sale
@hyp36rmax I had the same issue. toyoshim told me this:

maybe signal level js a little weak. there are 3 options you try.

1. shorter cable

2. enough power supply

3. disable signal adjust mode

you can check the support page for 3

some namco boards use higher signals, and iona adjust it to be lower by default. it usually works with sega, but there is one report one naomi doesn't. I guess naomi in a certain lot use lower signal and cause compatibility issue with the default config.

I disabled signal adjust and that kinda fixed it. A wired 360 controller works but not my Brook Ultimate Fighting Board in any config. I have a shorter cable coming in soon so I'm going to give that a shot.

@hyp36rmax sounds like the USB port could use a little reflowing, maybe worth a try if you're comfortable with that?

I could look into that. I thinks it's more like the micro usb connector is a loose slut. Akin to a worn usb connector over time from wear and tear.

I just tried a shorter USB cable with the same result. I will try disabling signal adjust next. How do you do that?

I wonder if Brook UFB is drawing too much power.

I'm most excited for Twin Stick compatiblity with my Tanita Sticks

Twinstick Mode

When a PS4 controller is connected to the 1P USB port, pushing PS button switch operation mode between the normal mode and the twinstick mode. In the twinstick mode, left analog stick and L1-3 buttons are assigned as 1P controllers, and right analog stick and R1-3 are assigned as 2P controllers. Button 1 is also assigned as 2P start button. This layout is designed to play Cyber Troopers Virtual-On Oratorio Tangram for NAOMI with TANITA twinstick or PS4’s two analog sticks. If you are a hero, you can enjoy solely playing both 1P and 2P together by 1 gamepad.

Holy shit! IONA works with Tatsunoko Vs Capcom! Kinda.... Button 5 isn't triggering though.

I’ve got a couple ideas.

Out of curiosity, if you use a keyboard to select a JVS game or set a JVS game to auto boot like the original BlazBlue. Does it work?
I still have an original BlazBlue HDD and Dongle too, I can try booting that when I get my IOs if this isn't yet sorted.

@Niko I tried autobooting a game that I know works (SFIV) - and no, when the game tries to boot - I get a JVS connect error (002).

How do I cancel the autoboot btw? :)

Matt
Hold down P1 start as the system boots.

It sounds like this device isnt doing something to spec. I'd either need one in my hands or have one of you guys log some data for me.

More than willing to help once these make their way across the pond.

I have, in order of personal priority, these JVS systems I can test on:

Taito X3 (multi only)
Sega Ringedge 2
Sega Ringedge
Taito X2 (multi or blazblue w/dongle)
Namco 256
Sega Naomi 2
Sega Naomi

Controller wise though I'm a touch limited perhaps?

HRAP3
Brook wireless fighting board
Xtokki 360 to PS2 adapter (I have had really good luck with these in the past)
Dual Shock 4

Anyone want help crowdfund an IONA unit for @Niko ? TTX2/3 would be the systems of choice for this… and Niko has certainly done his fair share on that front 😉

I’ll contribute $20USD… anyone else?

DM me to keep this thread on track and let’s see…

First half of Batch #2 arrived last week and already been mailed and photos/tracking been provided to all customers.

The other half of the batch is on its way and will be sent out in a week or so.

I have three extra units if anyone needs them, if not they'll be up on www.CandyCabClub.com -- after they're gone, it will be a while until another restock.

Received mine but might be a few weeks until I'm able to try it out. Happy to test out whatever I can help with for Naomi, Namco 256, TTX2 - I think that's all I have for JVS. Got plenty of controllers and arcade sticks to try out tho.

Question for whoever might be able to point me towards relevant solutions: have there been any cases for this device made via 3D printer or any other method and if so, is anyone selling this?
