Interest Check: Pre-made upgraded 161-in-1 multicarts - All spots filled - 2025 UPDATE

Got my MVS cart yesterday, shipped to Italy. Thanks again Rewrite! You've been incredibly kind and patient.
Aaaaand we got to troubleshoot your motherboard!

Big thanks to everyone. I know there was some rocky bits in their early, but it all got sorted in the end. Ended up shipping 125 so far, have less than ten incoming, and while I'll continue to offer to do BYOC's, I am hoping they're just a couple at a time from now on, ha.

I found with my aes cart push it in ..
Then ever so slightly pull it up a tiny bit ,
One of my MVS motherboards is like this. May be worth cleaning the cart slot and deoxiting after. Also worth checking all the pins are the same.... depth? Position? You shouldn't have any that are pushed particularly far back or forward.

yeh I will put a drop of deoxit on the slots.
Just revived 5 x1 slots and now im trying to repair the 4 slots 👍

If you live in Europe and can't find Deoxit (it's crazy expensive on italian Amazon), try WD40 Specialist Contact Cleaner + plastic card wrapped in a cloth.
I still wish I could find Deoxit D5 for a reasonable price 'cause it sounds like a next level solution - especially the conductive film it leaves on the contacts.

Cut normal A4 sheet (copy/printer paper) to length of your cartridge slot. Fold tightly until it fits suitable tight into the slot. Spray contact cleaner to the slot and put your folded paper into the slot couple of times. Repeat with clean paper until no dirt comes out anymore.

Alright, small hiatus as my last little chinese programmer has given up the ghost. Should resume in about a week. Only a handful left here, 3 that are supposedly coming in, and we're home free. At least until some folks find more carts to send in.

Looks like V2 carts are now $200+ as well. That may be a byproduct of CNY though, guess we'll see in a couple of weeks!

Hell yeah

I will have one more MVS cart, and one more AES cart for sale. It will be a few weeks, but if interested, like the times before, first to post below gets it and I'll PM you for payment/shipping details.

AES still available. Holding the MVS for a day for @Ir0n and if he doesn't take it it's still spoken for.

Down to just a handful here! And caught up with PMs.

3 of the remaining 6 V3's will be out by Monday, the others by mid-week, along with the repair I've got sitting here.

CNY put all the V2 people behind as I'm waiting on parts, but everyone affected already knows this!

Feel free to check the Google Sheet in the first post for where you're at!

This is the Cart I have from many moons a go. Would this be a good candidate for the mod?

That one's perfect.

Update:
Shipping 7 carts out tomorrow. @alex2005jp and @Madwindoman should hopefully be done by Tuesday, it was easier to lump the MVS ones all together first.

V2 folks hopefully start this weekend shipping gods willing. The 5 of you seem to be the end of the line, finally! These are all half done and just waiting to get chips on daughterboards that I don't have on hand.

Hello all,

Quick question to understand what set up you guys have for this vortex cart in AES.
In my 3-5 console (POW-3), I get some text corruption on the games, I need to press the reset button and load the game several times. Eventually after several resets, the game will load fine. I use a decent PSU (see pictures). On my 3-6 system, on the other hand, the vortex cart plays just fine. No graphical issues, games load fine from the beginning (using the same PSU). Only issue I've found is Blue's Journey audio seems to be corrupted, does not sound like the original rom. But this happens to every console I have tried.
Other games sound good.

Are these carts known to have issues in 3-5 consoles, or maybe its just my console that needs some repair? I have also tried it in another 5v console (POW/POW-2) and there, it simply will not boot properly.

Thanks for the help!

The issue you see is not specific to a revision, but a fundamental difference between the 2 systems which I've yet to figure out. I've seen 3-6 systems that show the same graphical issues you have. I believe the issue might go beyond the power supply used and is at the component level. But I don't have enough AES revisions here to confirm this. If you still have both AES systems, and are able to open the 3-6 and 3-5 systems, can you look at the CPU and report back? It would either be a HD68HC000PS12 or TMP68HC000N-12. I'd be especially interest to find out what is in the 3-6.

Thanks for providing some light, leonk! Unfortunately, none of my systems have been opened. I will ask a friend if he can take pictures of his 3-6 "working" console and report here.

Interestingly, "your" vortex cart has no graphical issues on the systems I own (3-5 & 3-6 POW3). Only "rewrite version" does. Which is strange, assuming both carts use the same PCBs after all. None of them boot on my 5v consoles, but as I understand on POW/POW2 consoles that is normal for 161 carts.
