What's new
Thank you so much. I know in his PM he'd mentioned being an AA regular, but hasn't been on here since May.
I've reached out to Mr. Garfield on Atari Age on your behalf.

Hi rewrite,

I received the message on AtariAge from Magic Trashman and saw your PM. Good to see you again and thank you Magic Trashman for notifying me. :)

Just a quick question for Rewrite, 'cause I wasn't contacted for a deposit yet and I'm not sure about the quantity of donor carts/chips remaining: I'm on this spot of the waitlist, is there still hope for me to get my cart? Thanks! ;)

Chances for the waitlist are exceedingly low. I'll poke around and see if I can secure more chips in some way as I get closer to the end of the original list, but it isn't looking great from here unfortunately.

😥 That's what I feared... well, things could change in the future, so I'm not gonna lose all hope! Just a big chunk of it. 😅 And if something changes, I'm sure you'll go back to that list.
Thanks for replyin' rewrite!

Everyone who has paid has been re-tested, packed up, and tossed in the truck. Will be shipped out before UPS closes for the day.

Aside from @Ince as I have to make a separate trip (tomorrow, I promise) to the post office for the customs forms mailer bag thing (my post office was out of them and won't ship without since it's in triplicate).

Feel free to check the tracker for your tracking numbers.

I believe this puts us at 25/77 completed and shipped, and 10? more waiting on payment to ship. Waiting on a handful more to pay (a few I have agreements with, a few I'm sure will get there), and will be continuing on down the list from here, but definitely at a slower rate than I have been. Birthday weekend this week and work's starting to pick back up, but I do intend to make sure I'm shipping some each week moving forward.

We're basically halfway there!

First one has already been received actually! I know it only went like 45 miles, but I thought UPS would sit on it for more than a day, sheesh.
Glad to hear it man! These cats that bought them are gonna love em. I almost want to make a video on it and put it on youtube but I dont know shit about video production and i dont want to have to put some weird goofy face on the thumbnail just to get clicks XD

Mine should arrive before I get home from work. I'll briefly test it when it's in my hands, but I'm really looking forward to how well the games play compared to real carts. On my next gathering I'll have some competitive KoF and MotW players give them a shot to look for timing differences, while I can personally test to see if the sound is OK (on unmodified 161-1s, Puzzle Bobble and likely many other games sound scratchy). The other thing to check is general stability (although I'm sure there was a burn-in test already), since unmodified 161-1 carts tend to crash quite easily.

Up and running! It may have taken longer than expected, but I'm still pretty happy with the conclusion. My initial impressions on the cart itself are positive. There's some very minor label wear, but I probably want that replaced anyways.

The games seem to run well from the very limited play time I had. The sound seems fine to me, and the way I tested for it was to listen for a combo bubble pop jingle in Puzzle Bobble. On a normal 161-1 there's a obvious scratchy noise you can hear with the jingle that isn't present in this cart. It'll probably be this weekend at the earliest before I can really have this cart playing for several hours with different people/games. I did try Neotris for the first time and I like how it plays, along with the excellent music.

Small update. Unfortunately the version of Garou on the cart is a prototype version. The easiest way to tell is the title screen based on this website https://rq87.flyingomelette.com/RQ/PP/MOTW/1.html some other things that indicated a prototype version when we played it:
- music stops playing on the victory screen
- TOP mode activation spark graphic is an incorrect color
- Kevin Ryan’s bingo kick super is buggy and freezes the opponent in place for a bit
- boss characters are not selectable with the typical codes
- some cancels don’t work quite right

Ah gotcha. I didn't really follow the process of the creation of this cart, so I didn't know this was the case. At the very least the Jae Hoon freeze glitch seems to have been fixed. That was the first thing we tested, and that confused me when it didn't just insta-crash the game.

My carts arrived today (2 MVS, 1 AES).

They were packed up well and arrived in good condition.

Everything seems to work as it should. Definitely a quality product.

I'm very glad to have them in my collection!

Thanks @rewrite.
If ever you want to let a mvs go please consider me ..
Really wanted one followed from start..
Gutted not going to be able to get one of parts dry up.

I sympathize with you. It is unfortunate that the parts turned out to be so rare.

The 2nd MVS cart was for my brother.

I have 1 MVS and 1 AES.

I hope we do not see any of these carts marked up on eBay or other marketplaces.

I got my cart in and it seems to work fine. Does anyone know of a way to get back to the game selection menu? Other than turning it off and back on?

Thank you to @rewrite for doing this project.

I think it was discussed that power cycle is the only way.

Maybe I'm wrong though.
