I have two broken cps2 boards laying around. Iwas able to install this openkey but I still get the dreaded purple screen. I think installed everything correctly. I've measured the pins to CN9 top side pins and I have continuity on each pin. Is it possible that installation on my type of board is still slightly different? I tried two boards but both give nothing. The 93646B-6 gives first a little bit of black before going to purple. This vampire hunter does not seem worked on before. The other game does. Is there a way to test the components? What else can I do to try to resolve this issue. Battery hadn’t leaked and I also got a purple screen prior to the installation of the open key. My A board works with other games.

Did you double check the jumper setting, right version and the like? (I believe the open version has different jumper setting than the commercial version so make sure to lookup up the right table)

Pretty new to cps2 . What do you mean difference between open and commercial version?
This is my shell.
And I used these jumper settings from the open key page or do you mean settings on the cps2 board itself?

If you are 100% sure the open-key jumper points are shortened with good setting tor this game region and it still does not boot make sure there's good connection between A & B board. Give it a good squeeze on each of four connectors.

Commerical = Infinikey, does the same thing but I'm not sure the jumper settings for the games are the same.
Don't go by Cps2 shell go by Rom label (South American Boards also came in green sometimes)
That said the jumper setting looks correct if I'm not mistaken

If you have a ability to read/burn eproms.

I would dump the 03 rom and just verify the crc matches whats in mame for the game. Pretty sure I had a board in the past with the wrong stickers on the eproms.

There is a suicide tester here

You run it on a suicided B board and it will help verify the B board is working ok.

Also in your close up picture of the openkey it kinda looks like pins 1 and 2 are bridged together on the attiny chip?

I think in this picture it is clearer I don't think they are bridged:
I dont have an eprom reader/writer. But I think it might be time to buy one. What can you recommend?
