I did not, but thanks for bring it to my attention.
I was using that method through trial and error. It works often, but about 30% of the time the MVS doesn't reboot and remains stuck on a black screen after the Multi messages (15m waiting but doesnt load). I did not check if the graphical glitches are less intense on slot 2/4, so perhaps thats already the solution to my main problem. I don't mind the "crash" chance.
However I'll dig through this thread to make sure Im not making obvious mistakes that I couldve avoided by just reading. Ill check my harness output as soon as the opportunity arrises
Update. Messed with alot of factors trying to fix this but it turns out it was the bloody micro-SD.
I've tried several microSD cards, all SDHC, and it seems that Sandisk Extreme SDHC cards causes my multiMVS to shit itself when its trying to load the games. Buying high-end sd's was the issue here.
Sandisk Extreme Pro 32GB SDHC -> Low boot chance, sound issues, Neo Geo Turf Masters is corrupted really damned bad.
Sandisk Extreme 32GB SDHC -> Frequent crashes and sound issues. Multiple games quite corrupt.
Samsung Pro Endurance SDHC ->Low boot chance
Sandisk Ultra 16GB SDHC, oldest cheapest one I could find -> Works like a charm. Only when using third party SD card formatting software, not innate windows card formatting.
With the "faulty" micro-sd cards it became obvious that the multiMVS worked on the first boot and will perform "decently" in games so long I never touch the menu again. Attempting to ever return to menu pretty much makes the card unplayable until I reformatted it again. Had like a 30% to boot, but if I had it running it would keep on trucking aslong as I kept the cabinet on.
The Ultra micro SD has a 100% boot chance, no crashes and plays all games correctly so far. I had some sound looping incorrectly in a screen here or there, but that is fixed by just removing and reinstalling the game onto the multi-mvs. I suspect the faster write speed on the extreme cards may be the factor here?
Anyway, I'm glad it turned out to be something simple. Hope this might help someone with similar problems.
