"dash" means 12MHz... so if your board has a 10MHz chip and a dash sticker, then the sticker is fake.the 10mhz 68k (do any dash's have this?)
Would this work on a long board with 10mhz clock then?"dash" means 12MHz... so if your board has a 10MHz chip and a dash sticker, then the sticker is fake.
It has already been tested, zero issues that could be noted.overclocking by 2mhz might be an issue?
Yes, it should.Would this work on a long board with 10mhz clock then?
Correct, the correct crystal is used based on the game, of course, you can change it to use the crystal you want as well.the boards can handle 12mhz, ive tried it on a mercs short board and it ran fine for several hours. its less than a 10% overclock so its not really wild.
edit: i didnt try the dual crystal mod on the mercs bord, i physically soldered a 12mhz crystal on it. i dont know if the dual crystal mod works with a 10mhz board but i would think it just switches from crystal to crystal so physically it should
technically yes the last 2 digits of the 68K specify the target clock speed. but as has been mentioned many times before ad-nauseam there are no ill-effects from overclocking with a higher speed crystal. In-fact there is evidence of Capcom installing "-10" 68Ks on mobos with 12MHz crystals.Ahhh - I thought (for some reason) that the motorola 68k was either rated for 10 or 12 mhz.
Got it! I didn't mean to start a firestorm that has already happened!technically yes the last 2 digits of the 68K specify the target clock speed. but as has been mentioned many times before ad-nauseam there are no ill-effects from overclocking with a higher speed crystal. I beg of everyone in this thread to not beat this dead-horse any further
This has been discussed to death 5x times over already.
