CPS1 Multi. Official Thread

$300 for punisher? What year was that?
2016

Ah I see, so JAMMA is the only output that always works no matter what you are playing (in mono).
It will add a slight complexity to running the multi in a cab.
To get the best sound you'll have to manually connect/disconnect RCA/JAMMA when changing between 1.0/1.5 games.

In a Vewlix cab you only have one 3.5mm audio input to the amp.
So I can use RCA output, or JAMMA output via Jammafier (attenuated) but not both at the same time...

The cable must be physically connected/disconnected, unless I wanted to keep it mono 100% of the time via Jammafier's output.
That would be a real shame because Vewlix (unlike other cabs I won't badmouth here) produce really fantastic stereo sound.

It was my wish that CPS1 games could output (mono) via the RCA filter board as well, but I totally understand why it cannot.
Thing is some CPS1 games (SF2:WW/CE/HF for example) have "fake" (some sound effects only play in right or left channel but BGM is the same) stereo sound that can't be heard unless you wire into CN5 (and desolder the vol pot for some strange reason).

Again I really wanted you to address this because its nifty, and adds RCAs to a CPS1... Maybe in the "CE" or "ultra" revision? *sigh*

there should be enough for everybody, I think.....
Thats a main reason why D made the list, there might not be enough.
This is production in a pandemic afterall.

And... If that turns out to be true, I know I'd appreciate IF you followed the list.
You know given that I'm number 17 and I'm positive you'll produce more than 20 of these.

Don't worry. I was kidding. I made more than enough. What I wasn't able to get more was original Qsound chips. Luckily I have made a version with FPGA that works 100% the same.

If the demand/supply #'s are close, it might be fair to only sell 1 per person until initial demand is filled? Just a thought.
Not that the price is a negative, but given what it is I doubt everyone on the list will buy a kit or multiples day 1. I wished they did though :D
But like Darksot already said, Im sure he has enough for initial demand. Anyway, he has always done his releases in batches, if they do sell out, Im sure soon after another batch will be on the way.

Support for spinners is available. You need an extra PCB that plugs in the multi. I didnt want to delay the project anymore and make the final multi more expensive, so people who need that PCB because they want to play with spinners, can get it from @Mitsurugi-w.

Even I have installed a pin for 10/12Mhz. This pin will be a "1" if the game runs at 12Mhz and "0" if the game runs at 10Mhz. If someone is a bit purist, you have a pin there to run each game at the right speed. The clock is located in the A Board, so some soldering is anyways needed. I will not offer a clock PCB that plugs into the A board, althouhg it should be pretty simple to implement a small PCB with 2 clocks that plugs into that pin for choosing the right one.

Right now, I see no limitations, but rather endless opportunities, like converting games to work with the multi or making trainer versions, or....
Is there any schematic or draft drawings with the best practice for this small pcb with 2 clocks?
