DARKSOFT CPS III Bios and CD Releases

So my standard cart wont work at all with my ultra simm setup, but my scsi cd setup with regular simm works with standard iso burned on a cd. I wanted to eventually turn this into a ultrasimm setup, but the only downside i find with ultra simm is that sometimes background or character ram corrupts and you gotta reseat the simms everytime, ive tried multiple boards / cart arrangements.
 
Sounds like the cart hasn't had it's bios updated to the Ultra Bios. I'm sure you could PM @Mitsurugi-w or @ShootTheCore and get it updated for you to work on the Ultra simms. I'm sure there are others and some might be local to you, but those two are the ones I can think of immediately :)

Background or character corrupts don't sound right. Is it possible that the simms may need reburning? Is it only on the Ultra simms that it does that? If it also happens on normal simms, then maybe you have a possible buffer chip that's about to die?

Im afraid they do need possibly to be reburned, i also have a corrupt SF3 NG on the simm, its the only game that never loads.

Ultra SIMMs use a new kind of flash chip which requires the latest BIOS for it to function.

What does it mean standard SH-2 CPU? Does the SH2 chip have the custom logo or is it a "standard" SH2?. Only ultra BIOS works with UltraSimms, so you can't use an original cart with UltraSimms, unless you reflash it.
 
Question for anyone who might know - can you burn the Super/Ultra BIOS to a MBM29F016 and use that as a replacement flash, or will the cart only work with MBM29F400?

For my ultrasimm setup its ultrabios flashed, but my second setup has a standard sh-2 cpu from sega saturn, my friend jose cruz @cruzlink2 did the repair. its a tornade cart, and the cpu was dead in it. I think the cart was flashed as superbios, im well aware i need ultrabios for ultrasimm.

Got this new generation cart I was converting for a friend that won't boot. At first it would do nothing, after I reflowed the CPU it seemed like it was trying to boot but would reset. Now I had ordered the two nand gate chips, I received one and swapped it and now it doesn't reset but just shows a solid color screen

Hey @Darksoft - would it be possible to release the Region AutoBoot builds of the UltraBIOS that @Mitsurugi-w hinted at last year in this post?

We do have auto-boot to region versions of the ultrabios but we just haven't taken the time to publicly release them.

Every version of the ultrabios has the cursor glitch fixed.
