I'm interested in a pair of Versus Cities - I can probably do the repairs myself but depends on what they look like on the inside. Could you do freight to FL?
 
Well one of the Cobras works! I'll bring my tumbler lock pick tomorrow and see if I can get the coin door open for a free play to test the gun.

Original post updated again, Versus City individual pics added to the album.

The Versus are in about the same condition across the board. I could pull some control panels off some and place them on other to make a few "better" and a few "worse". I'll see if there's a preference in the interested parties so far!
 
Well I'll be a monkey's uncle that's 2 working cobras. Pedal is a go on both, not much action from the gun itself but I got the 2nd machine to coin up. I'll try linking them and see if they're talking to each other.

Update on ID8: installed some new RAM and CMOS batteries, the "left" PC boots! The "right" PC wasn't booting so I threw it into the "left" machine (thinking it could be monitor related) and still no dice. So I took the "left" graphics card and put it into the "right" PC and badabing she's firing up. So I ordered an Nvidia 9600 gs to put into the right PC. Once I get the replacement video card I can test linking and so forth.

Super hard to google up a manual for ID8, anybody have a copy handy? I'd like more info on the server tower and linking the machines up before I blindly start plugging stuff in.

Fun game! So far the left cabinet is fully functional. Card reader pulls in a card, all buttons and force feedback work.

I have a couple AW cabinets and Versus cabinets left, if you're interested let me know! No offers on Namco Cobra or the ID8 yet, so shoot me a PM if you'd like to get 'em.
 
if want was the only thing u needed it would be mine =P but seriously nice work. one day when i have my own house with my arcade basement, will i own initial d cab..
 
Ok kids I think I'm sticking $5k OBO on the pair of ID8 and $2k on the pair of Cobra cabinets. ID8: one is fully working, the other Ringedge just needs a graphics card which is already on the way, so I'm pricing it as a discounted working pair. Can't test the server tower and linked play until the graphics card arrives.

The literal only thing I could find in terms of pricing the Cobra was an ebay auction from 2011 (hard to believe that's 14 years ago now!!) where a single Cobra sold for $1300. All I know about the Cobra is it's pretty uncommon. It's a fun game and the 38" CRT is pretty insane.

The 4 remaining Versus and two empty Blast Citys are held for local buyers, I'll mark them sold once they've been picked up.

Congrats on the sales! Looks like things are going well, and the prices are hitting the mark.

I'm personally curious what they've been going for, but I don't see the sale prices in the thread (possible I missed them). The forum rules do require you to post the final sold price(s) as a heads up.

Good luck with the rest of the sales! I'd consider putting the Cobras and ID8 on ebay, might find a bigger audience there.

Updated the first post with some numbers for future reference.

Remaining items:

  • ID8, pair
  • Cobra the Arcade, pair
  • 3x Atomiswave cabinets
Still pending pickup on the 2 empty Blast City cabs.

If you had your eye on the AW cabinets #1, #7 and #11 remain and they're pretty nice. Shoot me an offer, let's make it happen!

Ok kiddos the 3 remaining AW cabinets are going to transition into a repair phase for me. 3 AW cabinets are much easier on space than 13, so I'm going to get them cleaned up and working. Feel free to reach out for a purchase in the meantime.

Not sure if it's against the rules, I'm going to make a new post for the ID8 and Cobra since they're not in the title of this post.
 
You know....given that I've been hunting and collecting AWSDs/E3's in Texas for 12+ years and have only pulled 3 damn cabs, you'd think I would have seen, AND been all over this....but FORTUNATELY, my pc took a crap this last weekend, and I've been reinstalling from scratch and dropping in new ram.

I'm honestly grateful to have missed it, as I have no more room, and no more NOS PFX Tri's to drop into any new cabs....so cheers to ALL of you that got these, and I sincerely hope they are loved and cherished!

Has anyone that picked up these AWSDs figured out what keys they use? It seems like they're not the normal LY-1153 used on Egrets and Vewlixes.

I'm about to just drill them out but I hate wasting otherwise good locks.

That back door should just be on there with screws.

That lets you get to the PCB door, and the coin door.

It also , if you're VERY careful. can let you get to the nuts/bolts holding the control panel on.

If you carefully disconnect the harness wiring from the back of the CP, you can get every lock off, BUT the cash box, without drilling.
