Since Namco Arcade io boards are both upward and downward compatible, I wonder if Taito is also backward and upward compatible.

The serial terminal on the I/O board of Battle Gear 3 is connected to the key cylinder (ID reading machine), which is unnecessary now that the online service has ended.

Except for the serial terminal, ordinary JVS I/O can be used instead.
Do you have a wiring diagram for BG4 I/O?

In Battle Gear 3, the serial terminal (3pin) on the front of the S246 motherboard is used to connect the handle.

It would be great if the program could be modified to use handle operations via JVS I/O.

I was lucky enough to buy a bg3 io board.I will try to start it next.

battle gear 3 I/O needs a Serial Tx/Rx for the motor board/steering setup - so no BG4 I/O is no use.
Hello, Andy.
thank you for your help at TAITO Type-Zero.
BG2V is not available yet...

I was lucky enough to buy a bg3 io board.I will try to start it next.
If there is no BG3 handle and BG3 motor boat, it will stop due to a handle error.
It seems that it can also be used with BG4 products, but this is unconfirmed.

I am running Battle Gear 3. How do I connect the power supply to this IO board? What do the pointers represent as 2 5-pin connectors?

There are two power sources, but they are arranged in the same way.
The two connectors are IN and OUT for the power supply, so it will work if you connect only one.
