I've never ordered from there before. I understand I place my bid and pay for item but if I win what do I do about shipping? Of course pay for it but how? Through whom?
The proxy company, From Japan, will handle setting up the domestic shipping for you. For a larger item that shipping charge could be free, could be $20, just depends on the listing and seller.
Before you bid you need to set up your account to use a payment method of your choice. I use PayPal, personally.
Once your item arrives at the From Japan warehouse, they’ll allow you to select a shipping method from Japan to you and charge you accordingly. For a heavy item like that it could be as much as $50-70. So just keep that in mind when ordering large items.
But if you can get the product cheap enough, you usually end up paying less out of pocket doing it this way vs buying something already state-side.
So in the end you pay:
- The item
- local/domestic shipping (if seller charges)
- From Japan fee (I think it’s ¥300 or something)
- international shipping
Here’s an example of a power supply and amplifier I purchased a while back. Cost me $188 altogether.
