APOCALYPSE Sega C2 Multi Sales and Support

Late to the party, but quick question about the V2 boards with a rotating selector switch. 16 positions, but only 14 games correct? Building a table of which number is which game but want to be sure I have my information correct before doing so.

    Positive feedback for djsheep

C2 Multi Kit, quick shipping and arrived as described. Well worth doing business with.

    Sega C2 hardware test?

It may have been too early... I was looking for a test dip switch without having tried just pressing the test button.

    Sega C2 hardware test?

Got a C2 on my workbench I'm going to multi gamify. But other than playing the game on it (Tant-R) is there a hardware test mode I could run to just do a quick validation of functionality?

Adding component or RGB output to Neotropolis consolized MV1FS?

Could always add a 4P2T switch in there to toggle the RGBS wiring between the PCBs. Will consider it.

Adding component or RGB output to Neotropolis consolized MV1FS?

What I'm thinking I may try to do is have a power toggle switch so that only one of the two boards is powered at a time. But it may be more work than I'll have time for... as always, too many projects.

Adding component or RGB output to Neotropolis consolized MV1FS?

Somewhere I have some Neo Geo RGB PCBs by n00b, thinking I'll just go with those. Just need to find a mini-din 9 or 10 panel mount.

Adding component or RGB output to Neotropolis consolized MV1FS?

Yeah, does seem to power the encoder board when running off JAMMA. Easy to correct if I so choose though, and at least in my limited testing appears to have no ill effects. I'd be quite happy with just adding a mini din style RGB output, but again not sure which filter PCB would be a reasonable...

Adding component or RGB output to Neotropolis consolized MV1FS?

Yeah I don't really need composite/s-video, but I'm not willing to take out the modifications that were done (say what you will about it, but they did a good job with the modifications). Worse case I should be able to use a super gun when I want RGBS and leave the power switch off on the...

Adding component or RGB output to Neotropolis consolized MV1FS?

Have an old Neotropolis consolized MV1FS that only has composite and s-video output. Thinking I'd like to add RGB or possibly component to the mix but I don't want to remove the existing modifications. RGBS is already tapped, so thinking I can just run a second output in parallel. 1. Any...

    MV1C video "jiggling"

So I attempted to replicate the issue with other scalers, but the problem seems intermittent which makes it frustrating. Almost looks like a ground loop problem, but I have everything running through furman ground isolating power switches.

    MV1C video "jiggling"

Yes, but not recently. GBSC I have isn't great (from Aliexpress, the one I built is in a cab so can't test with it), OSSC (which is what I primarily use), RetroTink 5x (I can never get these to work well with Neo Geos), and a Medusa scan doubler. I'll see if I can replicate it with another...

And it's happening again... so not the capacitors, any other ideas from anyone?

    DIY mahjong controller?

Well they're just exposed traces for the carbon pads to contact. EasyEDA has a good template for it, but I'm still struggling with KiCAD. It's just been too long since I last used it and I don't remember anything. May have to do a refresher tutorial when I have time...

    DIY mahjong controller?

Yeah, I think the original mahjong controllers are going for around $1,200 USD. I think if I had one I would have gotten frustrated with it not working with a supergun, @pierpa86 was able to point me in the right direction to build the above adapter to pull in the three missing pins. Now I'm...

    DIY mahjong controller?

Confirmed this setup works with a MV1B, not that there was much doubt but hadn't tested to be sure. (ignore the mess)

    DIY mahjong controller?

Confirmed via multimeter, when in AES mode OUT3 is bound to SELECT. Nifty.

    DIY mahjong controller?

Not that I could tell, but I'll keep seeing if I can probe around on it.

    DIY mahjong controller?

Reversed the order of the three wires going to the MV1C CN1 and I think it's all up and running! (still no idea what the AES/MVS switch on this weird controller does)
