blast model 3 harness... Man, I spent months looking for one of those. You’d think they’d be more common, maybe people just chuck them after they get the jamma loom. Nice sale!

Actually this is my second one. I had one in each Blast City I acquired. First one I gave back to @PlayYing when I gave him the stuff for the fishing game back. The second Blast City had this harness just laying in the bottom with the JAMMA harness hooked up.
 
Yo, will that model3 harness work on a model2 pcb as well???
I'm assuming the pinout is similar.
 
I forgot why I was looking for one, but don’t need it anymore, I sold my ballast cabs.
 
There are some connectors with extensions on this harness. Whatever I did not need I just left it all connected together as I found it.

I am pretty sure that if it does not match up either my self or @Lemony Vengeance could figure out how to build the connectors you need. Should it require anything extra or an adapter.

Oh and there was a VGA cable also so it used that instead of going through the connectors. I don't think .. or remember if Model 2 boards had VGA out.

Not 100% sure it was already converted to pretty much a proper Blast City when I got it. It does look like it though. With that said should'nt the harness be the same except for the added bits that power the extra stuff like the fans on the control panel?

AFAIK Sega never made an official Model 2 harness for Blast, however the pinouts are similar.
Most of the connectors you care about are going to be the same (digital inputs, analog inputs, digital outputs, audio, video) EXCEPT for the Power connectors. the model 2 uses several 10 pin 5V connectors, the Model 3 uses 1 10 pin 5V connector and then has a very large connector with 5V and 3.3V

Also, as was mentioned the Model 3 has both a VGA connector for video, in addition to a JST NH connector for video. the Model 2 only has the JST connector.

The Official Model 3 Harness for Japan was sold specifically for Virtua Fighter 3. But Spike Out, Fighting Vipers 2, and Sega Bass Fishing all shipped in Blast cabs too so I'd imagine they use the same, or very similar harnesses.

I'm honestly not sure what the official Sega Model 2 harness was like but I'd imagine it was designed to fit an Astro City/Versus City.


with all that said, I'm interested in buying the harness as well as the VF4 cart if they're still available. :D

Model3 to Blast harness sold

Combined the Tekken 5DR game with the control panel over lay.

Probably gonna list some more stuff this weekend and post some of it on ebay to see if I can move it faster. That Vewlix aint gonna buy itself :p

I can confirm Sega Bass Fishing uses the same harness. I converted an American Sega Bass Fishing Blast City to Japanese specs.
