Hi, as the title suggests ! I have 8 spare Neptune boards for sale.

Price is 70$+shipping each. (shipping <10$ in US, 20-25 to Canada/EU depending on location)

I assembled mine and it works great, see pics for proof. Will attach pics of the bare boards later as well.

Will gladly assist in some of the tricks I learned and would have liked to know before building it for anyone interested.

Edit : 5 more for sale.

Wait, $70 for all the SMD parts populated, or only SMD parts such as caps populated? If it's the whole shebang, I'll take one, if it's just the simple stuff, I'll pass.

IMHO getting a pre-populated board is a good idea, not only to reduce the work but also to cut down on avoidable errors. And unless you get a stencil and a reflow oven it'll probably be neater as well.
Well good luck. The one guy who commissioned this build charged $2700 for his parts and time.

A company in Brazil called Games Care has announced they will be manufacturing the GF1 Neptune model en masse but I haven't seen any further announcements since last July. They will be revealing their console June 30 at Gamesom Latam and apparently features built in SD loader as well as HDMI scaling at 1080p and original analogue output.

I'm looking into the viability of doing this project my self but if anyone takes a commissions on this project including OP. I wouldn't mind seeing it.

$2700? WTF? Man, you'd have to pay me $2700 to play some 32X games...

This is a fun project, but not one that is above the cost of say $500, which I realize my not be realistic, but damn!

Doing it yourself might be the only way to go, but I watched that YT of the guy building one of these and even he had issues, not an easy build!

Just to be clear, with pre-populated I mean all the off-the-shelf stuff like capacitors and resistors that the PCB manufacturers have in their pick-and-place machines anyway.
Well I see a guy who populates PGM carts right above me :rolleyes: lol. The market is wide open and ready for you Fluffy!

FWIW the GamesCare Neptune will be FPGA-based, not original hardware. So it's more like an Analogue console and then some. I have the GamesCare SCART switch and have had good experiences with support, so hopefully the product delivers. https://www.retrorgb.com/gf1-neptune-console-revealed.html

Totally agree that it's not worth $2700. OTOH, no one's building a Neptune just to play some games! I already have a 32X tower of power, a MiSTer, a Mega Sg...

Maybe soon there'll be a Nomad Neptune.

They should. But it's neat to also put it in it's own 3D printed shell, but costs a few hundred dollars!

Here's a full build video along with price breakdown at the end:

That few hundred dollars is what I'm hoping to avoid! It seems unlikely that this will ever reach a scale to justify injection molding, but a man can dream. In the mean time, I can put a pretty sweet 32X sticker on a Model 2 shell.

It was designed for the Sega Model 2 shell initially, in fact that 3D printed shells seems to have some issues with the buttons. That being said, someone makes an injected molded final revision, I would buy in a heartbeat.

That being said, although I am not buying any of these boards, the seller is top notch for anyone who does want this and his price is definitely very fair for the board as is!
