Sega Daytona USA into Muti-arcade

I picked up two Sega Daytona USAs off Facebook for $280. They were in a fire so there is some fire damage that can be cleaned up. As functionality the only electrical issue seems to be the optical connection between them. Other than they have been working great, it was a pretty awesome score.

My plan right now is to convert them over to muti arcades. I stripped one down and pulled out all the OE electronics, the plan is to reuse the steering wheel, pedals and shifter.

Since the yellow one is the one has most fire damage, I am starting with that one. If this actually works and looks good, then ill convert the other one.

First thing is to just gut everything. Don't waste time trying to make what connectors go where. Just unplug everything and start pulling stuff out.

The only things that will stay in the cabinet are the dash and dash components and the pedals.

I ordered new parts for my desktop and im going to recycle the old components in the arcade.

So far i picked up a open frame case and new speakers and amp to use with the PC.

The speakers and sub will fit in the OE boxes.

I also found a replacement dash and buttons on eBay that I am swapping out today.

How did you make out? I would prob have used control panels from need for speed type cabinets. The steering and shifter easier to convert parts wise. the Daytona steering parts are always needed for sega restoring Daytona 2 and are worth more $ as that.
just checking in see how things went and if you do change steering i know few guys who prob want buy the steering shafts and parts if not used.
