Recapping my Sun PSU (so many dead caps....) and I ordered a cap kit + filter cap. I got to the filter cap and its touching these diode legs, its still solderable fine, but is this going to cause a bridge? Can I put something on the bottom of the filter cap to prevent conductivity\issues?

Test it with a meter. Would be surprised if you actually have continuity as the outer layer is usually some sort of film/plastic and the bottom is usually rubber.

You can isolate it with an electronics safe rtv/caulk or a small sheet of plastic. Don't use regular RTV that smells like vinegar, it can cause issues down the road on copper.

Yeah its the outer film , debating just putting the old cap back in since it tested ok or pulling the diodes and putting some shrink on the leg.

I put some electrical on the bottom of the cap and think im going to dab some rtv over the legs. I had ordered some yesterday to replace the pieces i had to cut out.
