Hi guys,
I have just gotten a New Astro City and this is a dream fulfilled! I have some questions regarding the CRT. Hope the kind people here can help me out.
1.) Upon the first power on, I noticed my bottom left corner and top right corner had some discoloration, a pinkish / purple tint. Other areas of the screen were looking normal.
2.) After I moved the cabinet to another area, when I power on, I noticed that the left side of the screen and right side of the screen had discoloration (yellowish and slight pink/purple) - On my phone it looks blue
I tried to manually degauss using the button from the PSU but it did nothing. The center portion of the screen's color is normal.
I checked with the seller and he said the CRT likely is to have been magnetized, so he told me to get a degauss wand and that should clear up. It is a little challenging to find one from where I am located, but I will be giving it a shot. Anyone had encounter this issue before? I thought these CRTs should degauss on their own when we switch if off and on. Attached is a video of how it looks like. Also, how can I check that the degauss circuit / button is working?
My PSU is the 500-4198 (black).
