Hi,

My name is Alpaca. I love SEGA SPIKEOUT FINAL EDITION

During COVID, I bought the PCB and since then started collecting all sorts of SPIKEOUT stuff. I also love repairing and refurbishing them also MODEL 3 games and this forum and many experts have helped me a lot, thank you so much!

Recently, I've built clone audio mixer boards since many junk SPIKEOUT PCBs ended up only game board. I've built them for myself but if there is someone who is in need let me know!

Thanks,
Alpaca

Hello and welcome! You have come to the right place. Looking forward to learning more about your projects.

Nice what Model 3 games do you have?
Virtua Fighter 3 is by far my favorite Model 3 game
I just learned recently that VOOT was a Model 3 game as well
Only ever played it on the Dreamcast

Welcome! I haven't played Spikeout before, but it looks interesting and I will have to give it a try!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome:)

Later I will post about my project in Sega Model 1/2/3 and Hikaru area. Anyone who is interested drop by!

Thanks! I own some few MODEL3 step 2.x games.
  • SPIKEOUT FINAL EDITION
  • VIRTUAL ON ORATORIO TANGRAM (VOOT) 5.4
  • HARLEY DAVIDSON
  • VIRTUA STRIKER 2 ver 99
The reason for owning MODEL3 step 2.x games is they can be used for saving my SPIKEOUT. So just rarely boot them up to check if they are alive. MODEL 3 PCB is so huge and heavy compare to other system and they take so much space:saint:

I used to own VF3 (not 3TB) but I didn't enjoy as much as playing against people in arcades so let it go a while ago.

Yeah, VOOT 5.2 & 5.4 were released in MODEL3 but VOOT 5.66 was for NAOMI and ported to Dreamcast. Hajime Katoki's robot design is cool!

It's cool game  It's kinda like Virtua Fighter and Final Fight mix. You can play with up to 4 people was sooo sick back in 1998!
Recently it was ported to mini game in "Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth" so you can give it a try in latest console or PC. Thanks to SEGA:thumbup:

Wow that's pretty sweet!
I've always wanted a Model 3 for Virtua Fighter back then but it was very intimidating because I didn't know where to start even if I could get my hands on the hardware
When I learned about a Supergun I slowly was able to get into arcade hardware

The NAOMI was intimidating until I started learning about JVS and such
So thankful for this forum and the members here to help teach me how to get things going with JVS

You have to show us the VOOT set-up with the Twin Sticks! Would love to see those :D

MODEL3 wiring diagram it pretty simple and straightforward imo. I don't own any cabinet so I've done wiring by myself referencing SEGA's schematics.

I've built Dreamcast Twin Stick converted to MODEL 3 long time ago. After finished playing around with it I reverted to original wiring and ended up selling it. Maybe its good chance to do that again;)

Your the guy to ask when I have a question about Twin Sticks

I bought a few for a project
A couple were damaged

I'm going to try and fix them maybe convert them to play on different consoles
