Crazy thought...Can I convert this Bana Passport scanner to act as a button press?

So I need literally one button to act as a home button, and I dont want to drill into my panels (I like the stock look).

And was wondering if maybe I could use my included Bana Passport scanner to hook up somehow to act as a button press or something, maybe possibly when swiped with a bana password card?

I know I'm reaching, but I think it would be a really cool idea. I've seen this:
https://www.acrycadegear.com/produc...emake-with-rf-switch-function-injection-model

Which basically acts as a power button. So wasn't sure if something couldn't be done with mine in a similar way? Not sure if those connectors are custom or a known pc part or something, and which would be communication and which would be power?

I know the cable looks like this:

Thanks guys!

If you look through the pics of the Acrycade Gear solution you will see they are using a relay (small blue box/pcb) to act as the switch you need. In your case you would need to power the banapass pcb, and figure out some sort of sense/signal line that activates when a card is scanned. Connect that to the relay input and replace the power button in the pc with the relay outputs so it completes a Gnd connection on signal….

That’s rather simplified as I have no idea what sort of output the bana pass reader may be supplying, but that is where you should start looking…

I talked to the maker, and he said he could make it so it would "press" a button if I wanted, but then I lost comms with him, so still unsure on that.

I just dont want to drill into my top two panels as I like the blank look. Any ideas on how to have extra buttons without them being visible? I thought about maybe having the panels come up on a hinge or something, revealing a panel with buttons underneath. Not sure how possible that is though.
