SOLD!

I'm finishing up cleaning the basement and this is the final item and the most interesting.

Up for sale is a MiSTer FPGA "computer". What is this? It's a MiSTer FPGA inside of a Commodore 64 style case. OK, so exactly what is this thing?

  • Commodore C64X injection molded case with Cherry MX keyboard from myretrocomputer.com in the Commodore 64G color scheme -- white on white! This case supports ITX boards with 2 USB ports on the right side, a typical ITX panel on the back, a fan cut-out, and a left-side expansion bay. I have 3D printed (in black) a cover for the left bay, but you could put a hard drive in there or some other expansion. But you don't really need to with this build. The C64X comes in original box with manual.
  • Ironclad ITX board from d3fmod that acts as the power board, USB hub, and analog IO for the MiSTer. The DE-10 is mounted on the board, and then the ITX board goes into the C64X. The back panel is 3D printed in black. The MiSTer has a 500GB SD card installed and the 128MB DRAM module. The board has an RTC with a new coin cell battery. I will also include a WiFi USB dongle to get this on your network.
  • Also installed is the Ironclad hi-fi blaster which improves the stock DAC on the MiSTer and really improves the sound. A lot.
  • This unit is powered with PicoPSU (included) and 12v power adapter (also included)! A Noctua case fan is installed to bring in fresh air.
  • This also has an MT32-pi installed INSIDE the case! The MT32-pi uses a Pi Zero (included and installed) to emulate an MT32. This internal version does require custom-patched cores to use; I have included patched Atari ST, Amiga, PC, and X68000 cores on the SD card.
  • Also included is an Amiga "tank style" wireless mouse. This was a Kickstarter a ways back and is a Bluetooth/WiFI mouse that looks like an Amiga mouse. This is the "beige" style and includes a dongle that when plugged into the MiSTer, works perfect!

This is a very, very, very nice turnkey C64-style MiSTer solution, and has seen only a little use as I have a couple of these built.

If you were to build this, the parts would be around $1000. Crazy, I know! Looking to get $620 + shipping

I am also happy to sell the MiSTer ITX stack (w/PicoPSU, 12V PSU, MT32-pi, 128MB DRAM, SD card, WIFI USB) WITHOUT the keyboard case and mouse for $400 + shipping -- you can plop it into your own ITX case!

Thanks!

that's cool! I got the ironclad setup in a mitx case but this is way cooler. does the kb actually work? i wish i had an internal mt32 i have the external unit. cool idea i like htis alot but i dont need a 3td mister setup lol

Ya, of course the keyboard works! The LED is actually a button that turns the MiSTer on/off, and also allows you to bring up the OSD to select a core. It's very slick and looks the part. :) You can buy the cases (with keyboard) brand new from mini-itx.com for about $300 now.

Price drop and selling option added: MiSTer ITX stack without case and mouse for $400.
