Hello, I'm trying to wire up the Qsound Amp into a gen 3 big blue cabinet, however I am having issues figuring out how the wiring would go with the power supply I have in it. It is not a stock supply and has different molex connectors (This is the power supply I'm using). Ive included a couple images to demonstrate how its supposed to be wired and the power supply I'm using. Any help is appriciated

The transformer (black box) takes AC input directly from high voltage.

Would double check your voltages etc. But in general, this black box has a white, grey, and black wire. White wire would connect to your white/neutral AC wire. You would then connect the grey OR the black wire to your live (usually black) AC wire. The wire you choose will depend on the usual AC voltage of your country (note that the transformer indicates black as 100 V, and grey as 120 V). The green wire is simply earth ground.

The orange and yellow wire will go to the Q sound amp.

makes sense then theres an extra wire, I see both are wired into the power supply in the diagram but I assume this is because the stock power supply had a switch depending on voltage?

The transformer is not wired into the power supply. It’s only wired to the AC power.

From my limited experience with these, the input for the AC power harness of the transformer has 4 pins. But on the opposite end, only 3 pins are populated from the cab.

As a Capcom fanboy, I retrofitted a couple of my Capcom themed cabs with Qsound amps. @Lemony Vengeance helped make a harness for a cleaner look. But you can probably simply splice this into your cab’s AC harness.

I think I get what your saying, gonna get some pics to double check soon. Theoretically could you modify a wall outlet cord to go right into the transformer to power it?

@Vinsanity is correct. The toroid transformer for the amp originally came in 2 types one with 100v and 120v primaries and one with 220v and 240v primaries.

Only one of the primaries should be wired to AC, which one depends on your country's AC mains voltage if you are 100v mains then the live wire goes to the black and if you are 120v the live goes to the grey. Choose one and the other should NOT be connected to mains. Also make sure your input mains connection (iec socket or similar as well as the cord to the power point has an earth and is not a two pin plug or socket). It will work without one but is a little dangerous.

Precautions: please don't attempt the wiring if you don't fully understand how it works or don't understand the hazards.
