    New Astro City Monitor Discoloration.

Degauss circuit relay can fail. I have had this happen before. The simplest approach is to buy standalone degaussing wand. Ali Express is full of the small green ones but the better option is a circular coil type. Look up videos on how to properly manually degauss a CRT before doing it.

My first arcade contract. Input welcome

Definitely requires a remote board. There are some pots for adjustment on the chassis but the remote board has the standard HPOS, VPOS, HWIDTH, VSIZE, BRIGHTNESS, CONTRAST adjustments. Not having that connected in my experience leads to collapse or shutdown on this chassis, at least it has for me.

My first arcade contract. Input welcome

Desolder the suspect IC1, throw a dipsocket in there and pull a known working IC1 from a different K7000. IC1 is the same between 19" & 25". Internal failures happen to this part in my experience. Ken Layton did a write up on the WGK7300, which is basically the same monitor as the Happ, Tovis...

Nanao MS-2933 Issue after taking it in for Repair at PNL

This. Last time I had a chassis serviced (Elvis at Sharp Image) 3 or so years ago, I asked for any replaced components to be returned with the chassis. He did that. Obviously this doesn't tell you everything but at least I knew what component was bad and could infer pseudo-diagnosis from that.

Looking to do a chassis swap (ms9 on A68KTB189X) and have questions.

How did you splice the new connectors from the Toshiba D29CR55 yoke to mate to the Nanao MS-9? Did you remove the old wires completely and solder new wires to the headers of the yoke or did you snip the existing wires and crimp new terminals to match the MS-9 connector? Sometimes the vertical...

Dismantling a New/Astro City - how hard it can be?

To echo all here, I have had to do it multiple times and a proper screwdriver is a must. Astro, NAC and Konami Windy all do not fit through North American standard sized bedroom door frames, but a Blast City will fit if you remove the control panel and slide it in sideways. I remember...

    FS Account hacked, be smart

Not really. The only break real break is if you sell your primary residence, then the first 250k of gain is excluded from your income. Artwork and collectibles (think stamps or coins but could broadly covers "antiques") are technically their own category of asset for tax purposes of gain...

    FS Account hacked, be smart

No, cap gains are NOT adjusted for inflation. Yes the service expects the taxpayer to track their basis in assets. Fwiw I think it’s unlikely that this policy will be policed at least initially due to the sheer administrative burden of doing so for the service but you don’t want to be one made...

    Wei-Ya C3129D Rebuild Question

@nem is right. On a similar note, I have seen posts like this for other flybacks for chassis' that incorporate aluminum cages surrounding the flyback on the board. What I have found is that when those flybacks are screwed to those cages, that can cause stress to the junction of the flyback to...

    FS Account hacked, be smart

This is true regarding the capital gains, the problem is that if you do not have a disclosure filed with the IRS substantiating your acquisition cost (i.e., the price you paid to initially acquire the asset) then you could be deemed to have acquired it for zero. Further capital gains have...

Anyone able to identify this monitor/chasis ?

To supplement what you found, I think the Sega Display Model 200-5090 corresponds to the 20" variant. Not sure what tube size you have, but adding this here for reference...

D9200 pinout for Sega Blast City

Looks like the remote board connector header position needs to change depending on 15khz vs. 31khz. Page 3 of the attached manual. https://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals-monitors/Wells-Gardner-27d9200-33d9200.pdf

Ok Baby - Monitor Issues: H. Width and Pincushion

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-Lxzm1pN58LaU9nek5VVjRCLVU/view?usp=share_link&resourcekey=0-VPKxli05o8MxyeAjHFx6UQ See if what cap values correspond to c322 on this Wei-ya service manual. My guess is the 2620 will correspond to your chassis. EDIT. Try these too if 2620 is not a match...

Ok Baby - Monitor Issues: H. Width and Pincushion

I saw on your other thread that this is a A68 tube. That means you have a 27"/29" monitor. As for your horizontal size issue. There is are two jumpers next to the width coil that corresponds to one being "narrow" and the other being "wide". Try swapping the plug to the vacant header and see...
