    Seimitsu's Alutimo Buttons - a Review

That's correct. The buttons themselves, made of a different plastic than most arcade buttons, feel more solid and more accurate, and smooth. In the review I compare them to marble, because they feel like the arcade button equivalent of polished marble. They feel like they're built to a higher...

    Seimitsu's Alutimo Buttons - a Review

You're welcome! I can't believe how good they feel, but will you agree? I look forward to your impressions when you get them!

Yeah I considered this too. =D

NFG restores three cabs: Naomi Universal, CyberLead, New Astro City

The sides are polystyrene, and they're so thin and fragile that simply bumping it against the wall when tilting the cab is enough to crack, shatter and create holes. Which is how we got here. It's getting pretty hard to find one of these that -doesn't- have these holes already. So, fragile or...

NFG restores three cabs: Naomi Universal, CyberLead, New Astro City

While I'm not getting any painting done I started putting some effort into fixing the holes on my Cyber Lead panels. It's not a complicated shape when you look at it, but trying to match the size and the curves is a bit of a tough task for my mechanically declined brain. I started by making...

    Global Printer Alliance Maybe?

I've created a few useful things that sell fairly well, but they sell far better within Australia than they do to North America or Europe, because the shipping costs are crazy. So I had an idea, for anyone else who might be in the same boat: What if we grouped up and had someone on each...

NFG restores three cabs: Naomi Universal, CyberLead, New Astro City

I have a good primer, but so far it seems like it's not needed. Sanding down the surface before applying the two pack paint seems to be very effective. At least, as far as adhesion goes. And it does not seem to be softening the plastic at all. If there's anything I should be watching for...

Heat Set inserts - anyone using these for their 3D printed parts?

Yeah this happened to me a couple of times until I learned the gentle touch. Gravity alone is enough force to get them to settle into place, any more and there's a risk it's coming out with the iron. Not ideal.

Heat Set inserts - anyone using these for their 3D printed parts?

I use them a lot, probably a third of the things I print use one or more. I just use my normal soldering iron and eyeball it. It's not at all difficult to put them in straight, just make the tops flush with the surrounding plastic and done. I thought about building a press but that only works...

NFG restores three cabs: Naomi Universal, CyberLead, New Astro City

Alright, so I picked up the paint and today I tried applying it to the base of a Saturn VO twinsticks. I learned two things: 1. Paint is fucking hard. 2. I should not be trusted with paint.

    Omron's Magnetic Buttons: XW6Z-0011

Thanks for adding that link! That's what happens when I post late at night. 😅

    Omron's Magnetic Buttons: XW6Z-0011

My Super Neo 29 Candy came with the original Omron XW6Z-0011 buttons, and since the internet doesn't know much about these magnetic wierdities, I tore one apart and posted some photos (and a GIF!) on my forum. The Link to the thing ( thanks @nem )

NFG restores three cabs: Naomi Universal, CyberLead, New Astro City

I took the top part of the Cyber Lead control panel in to the paint shop and matched it as closely as I could with the colours on offer. It's almost but not quite exactly halfway between two colours on the card, and since the 2K paint I'm going to use isn't easily colour matched (parts need to...

NFG restores three cabs: Naomi Universal, CyberLead, New Astro City

I spent some time fixing up the cracks on the top of the Naomi plastics, made a small error on the biggest crack when I used cyanoacrylate (superglue) on one, to hold it together before I applied the fibreglass. It was spreading horizontally, and the glue solved that very quickly, but now it's...

A mouse f****** my Cyber Lead. Time for a restoration.

Yes you did, thank you! I'm about to start painting my Cyber Lead. When you did your white parts, did you go for a straight white or something different? I was going to go white but now I'm thinking the original might not have been that pure. ALSO - how did you get the side-art off? I was...

Konami Windy 2 GO707 Test PCB

Not necessarily for me, but doing up a post or a page about it would be an internet first, and may come in handy to like four people every decade. =) I was mostly hoping it was a small game like the Sega/Namco/Taito boards are

    Bambu Lab boiz

I'm currently using the Bambu ultra tack plate, and it gives similar results. A very smooth (but not untextured) plate that sticks to dang near everything at ~20C lower temps.

    FS PCB EZ-Swap Holder Kits

Update! The standard set now accommodates both plexi-mounted games and standard PCBs, at different heights. So one set will do everything you need. Also! I've whipped up a super low profile set, because I wanted to mount my Irken JAMMA Expander without having to rearrange the mounts. This...

    Bambu Lab boiz

Since @PascalP has an A1, he'd be using the AMS Lite. The only worry there, AFAIK, is whether the centre of the spool fits over the central grippy thing.

    Measurements for Seimitsu 40mm PCB

I recently made some accessories that required a lot of really annoying measurements. This is by far the hardest part of the job, for me, and I thought maybe I could spare the pain for whoever else might be doing something similar. These are measurements that will allow you to create a custom...
