Well - thanks to Console5 - I got a cap kit for this guy after a bit of back and forth with Luke on values.... Got the kit today, just did the recap. Happy that nothing exploded and the game booted right up - but the image is still darker than expected. The edge is nice and shiny and clean...

Use the fiberglass pen, and then I pulled out some deoxit and spent about 10 minutes with some papertowels getting off the black residue - its not perfect, but better than before, but alas - when I boot it up - same dark picture. I am working with console5 to see if they can get me a cap kit. Matt

i probably wouldn't daisy chain the two power supplies - will make troubleshooting a lot more difficult. That plug SHOULD just be hard wired to the AC power coming into the HAPP, but you never know. That HAPP might be a bit wonky, and the AC might not be steady which in turn would make the...

I would use a small brush of some sort with isopropyl that will dry after a bit of time. I wouldn't use a cotton swab because that could leave fibers in the small connector.

i am guessing there is oxidation on the pins that connected the boards in the netdimm together? Have you done any cleaning of the connectors with isopropyl alcohol or deoxit?
