    WTB Psikyo 57.27mhz crystal

DigiKey can program a crystal to oscillate at whatever clock speed you want. This part should fit your board and when you order it, you can specify the clock rate you want it programmed at. https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/ecs-inc/ECS-P85-B/502310

    Repair Log: CPS1 No Sound

Interesting. Well, the problem is either with the digital side (Z80 crashing) or with the analog side (OpAmps or final amp failure, or capacitors). If you have a multimeter or scope, probe Pin 4 of the YM3012 DAC. When there is no sound being generated, there should be a steady clock pulse...

    Repair Log: CPS1 No Sound

When the sound stops working, does it stay dead until you power cycle the board? Or does the sound come and go?

Retrocastle MiSTer FPGA Jamma - Scrambled Image

Yeah, it's set in the MiSTer.ini file. Actually, I have a correction - you'll want to make sure direct_video is set to 1 in the mister.ini file - that should set the resolution properly. If it doesn't then also try setting hdmi_limited to 1. If neither of those settings fix the problem...

Any Suggestions on Reviving A Failed SVG IGS PGM Cart?

I'm using a Dataman-48Pro2C programmer which officially supports the ATF22V10 parts. In the Device Options for the ATF22V10, I told it to program them without using the security fuse. Nevertheless, I have ordered a set of Lattice 22V10 parts that will arrive in a week or so. Can I program...

Any Suggestions on Reviving A Failed SVG IGS PGM Cart?

I’d like to get into dumping PLDs but I noticed that your PCBs are for 20 pin parts while the PLDs used with this PGM cart are 24 pin parts. Do you have some 24 pin PCBs as well or would we need to come up with something else for these parts?

MiSTerAddons MiSTercade - MiSTer for JAMMA cabinets

Try deleting the mappings for any troublemaking cores from /config/inputs on the SD card, and then either rebind them manually or use the premade ones from the MiSTercade GitHub. There’s also instructions on the MiSTercade GitHub to have your input mappings automatically update when you run...

Any Suggestions on Reviving A Failed SVG IGS PGM Cart?

A set of blank ATF22V10Cs arrived in today and I programmed them with the four PLDs used in the single SVG PCB. Unfortunately none of them work as a substitute for the three PLD parts in the SVG cart, so the cart PLDs will need to be dumped. @twistedsymphony is that something you'd be willing...

Is composite sync enabled in your MiSTer.ini file? And make sure that the output resolution is set correctly. FYI: the dual RAM MiSTercade will be going on sale any day now.

I'll order in some PALs and see if the files from the single PCB will work - thanks for the advice everyone! And I'd definitely be interested in buying a brute-force dumper from you @twistedsymphony .

Any Suggestions on Reviving A Failed SVG IGS PGM Cart?

After swapping parts with the working cart, I have good news! The ARM isn't dead! The bad news - all three of the PALs on the board are bad. With all three PALs from the working cart in place, the faulty cart boots and runs fine. Swapping back the original PALs individually, I get: U15 -...

Any Suggestions on Reviving A Failed SVG IGS PGM Cart?

I've been working on repairing a failed Spectrum vs Generation cart for the IGS PGM. This is one of the later carts that uses an ARM CPU on the PROG board as a coprocessor and for copy protection. I'm pretty sure that the ARM has failed, but before giving up on it, I wanted to reach out to see...

Unable to get Modbios games to boot

I don’t know who that seller is so I can’t vouch for the EPROM you bought. If you like, I can make you another mod BIOS EPROM for $3 plus shipping. I’ll test it on my G-Net before sending it to you. Or if you prefer, you could send your G-Net board to me and I could replace the flash chip on...

Unable to get Modbios games to boot

The factory Taito BIOS is still intact which is why your original GNet carts still run. The issue is that the flash isn’t erasing the factory BIOS so that the modded BIOS can load in from the EPROM. What EPROM are you using for the mod BIOS? It should be a 27C800.

Unable to get Modbios games to boot

The GNET board stores the BIOS on a flash chip. The jumper is typically only used when flashing the board’s flash with a new BIOS from the EPROM. Once the new BIOS has been successfully flashed once from the EPROM, you won’t need to use the jumper again-or even the EPROM for that matter. The...
