What's new
The power harness only splits DC power, not AC. You have to have the power cable connected at the back too.

Sorry I was not clear - the slave cab is plugged in with the power switch at the back turned on.

I assume the monitor in the slave cabinet is otherwise known good and working, and you can hear that it's on?

How do you have all the VGA cables running? Output from the master cabinet should go to the input on the slave cabinet vs board with one of the outputs going to the monitor and the other unused.

Yes, I moved the Naomi over to the slave cabinet and unhooked all the JVS link stuff to run the board stand alone. Everything works except sound as I discovered the amp on the slave cab is bad (swapped with master cab and aound returned).

Oddly, the marque light is only active when I turn on the power supply. It does not come on when the cab's AC switch is turned on. Is this normal?

What do you mean by cab's AC switch and turning on the power supply?

The monitor and marquee light should be basically the same behavior. The rear switch has to be on, as well as the switch inside the front door. The best way to turn off the PSU when linking would be to disconnect its AC input. I don't believe it is on a separate switch.

I think I understand what I did wrong now. The switch inside front door of the slave cabinet that I thought turned on the PSU only, is the secondary AC switch which will turn on power to the marque/monitor/PSU (when connected).

Sorry for being slow. Makes sense now. Just confused me as I assumed the switch was to PSU directly. White/black wires make it obvious it is AC.

I was able to make decent cables for this. Kind of curious why 3 separate pulls of 2 wires each were run for the long 12 pin Amp UP power connection between the link boards. For the VGA, USB and RCA cables, I just looked for junk Naomi cab wiring on ebay and found a set with them present for super cheap.

Huge thank you to @tonyt76 for helping me get both link boards with the mounting brackets.

Should be fun to have a side game next time friends come by for a 3rd Strike session.

That's odd. The modified version just patches the unlock codes in so you don't have to input them (YAMAAOUT and MORIKAWA in the test menu). I'm pretty sure I had both of those done.

Anyway, happy to hear you got it working. I'll have to try it out sometime.
Did you find a solution for this? It also happens on the boss hacked version for me btw.

I'm using a CF card netdimm and I haven't had any issues running here with matches for a few hours. What could be different?

I ran the version of CvS2 in one of the netboot roll up packs linked for a few hours with no issues.

Yeah I tried both on my netboot setup and it just locks up inputs on both versions. This happens only on CVS2 for me!

I have two boards in transit but loose ones. No mounting plates or cables.
Your thread might really help people to do their own cables since those link-boards are not very well documented.
I bought them only for Power Stone 2 and, mostly, Beach Spikers which, from my old arcade memories, really gets addictive in splited 4 players mode.
