Checksums are common on development boards. The repair at the bottom could be from factory. It's likely stock, but you never know!

How did you test the led strip? On my maimai, you can turn down the brightness down to 0 (you need to do this with the aid of flashlight) and then when you turn it on from the remote, it will run the leds in fail safe mode. You can then pinpoint the exact leds that have burnt out.

There's no JST marking on them, why do you assume they're JST? The bag could have just been repurposed.

What BIOS are you using?
