    MVS joypad port pinout

In short, they are output ports. Used by the FCT1B board to multiplex controllers or by the Mahjong controller to multiplex buttons. On MVS MV1B and MV1C they are on a separate connector, which is not available on other boards. It would be useful to know if the joypad ports can be used instead.

    MVS joypad port pinout

    I should've checked the Schematics, MV1F and AES as well: https://wiki.neogeodev.org/index.php?title=File:Mv1fs-page1.jpg https://wiki.neogeodev.org/index.php?title=File:Neogeo_aes_schematics_pal_2-page-003.jpg

    MVS joypad port pinout

Can someone with experience with/access to multiple board types confirm if the boards that have joypad ports: https://wiki.neogeodev.org/index.php?title=MVS_board_types Have OUT1-OUT3 wired to the joypad ports: https://wiki.neogeodev.org/index.php?title=Pinouts#Joypad_ports ?

The cart overflows, how are ya'll storing your MVS/AES carts?

You know you can just buy a larger shelf? ;)

PGM Motherboard In Game reseting to Service Menu

The largest easily available 5V flash part that can be hand soldered I found is 39sf040, which is 512kB * 8bit. Larger chips are only available in 3.3V. The PGM operates at 5V. Going from a 3.3V output to a 5V input is not a problem, as that is still over the threshold that reads as 1 on the 5V...

PGM Motherboard In Game reseting to Service Menu

Odd. :) I noticed he listed "Fluffy" carts, but just assumed since I released the Gerbers that he gives people a choice between lydz and my boards. lydz boards are easier to "mass"-produce, or maybe they've got lots of stock?

Interest Check - NEW MVS MULTI BATCH!!

From what I understand the ngdev cartridges have an extra cpu on the program board, similar to PGM. In the end it is their decision, looking how quickly bootlegs appear on aliexpress it is understandable.

If you go into this with the right mindset, that you're buying a (probably good) repro, then there is nothing wrong with this. Maybe the price goes down a bit once all the rich collectors have one, then again, they may run out of components.

Neo geo Kizuna Encounter 4p board

My NBM arrived, and I was able to test this with the UniBIOS, and the game reports itself as 4 player version: So far I've been unable to test an actual 4 player game, though... The best I get is 2 players against 2 AI, with one player playing the main char and the other the tag buddy on the...

Though there was a time when custom PCBs were unaffordable without a significant investment, or making very small numbers etching them yourself. There are now things like https://tinytapeout.com/ , and there are companies that can turn your working FPGA design into an ASIC for something like...

Someone already started to port mister to a larger FPGA, it is only a matter of time for the DE-10 to be replaced with something more powerful.

These things always depend on someone to sit down and say "I want this to happen". I have no idea how different the SH-3 is, but there is a Saturn core making good progress. The FPGA seems to work mostly as a Blitter, so reimplementing this shouldn't be rocket surgery. The tricky bit will be to...

The FPGA is obsolete as well: https://www.digikey.de/short/5b19dh4p In short, I think it is more likely that someone will invest the time into a Mister (or Mister successor) core than making a reasonably priced clone of the PCB. You not only need to invest the time to make the PCB, but acquire a...

What kind of FPGA is on there? If that is not available you won't be able to upload the bitstream, either. Also I have no idea if that is encrypted/protected in any way. Someone doing stuff like https://www.tindie.com/stores/bobsbits/ for Retro computers posted pictures, they sand off the...

No idea, I didn't have any luck finding the thread, and I don't remember if it was an embedded image or a link to a blog. They basically desoldered the TSOP flash chips and put connectors for flat-flex on the pin rows, which then went to a custom PCB. Maybe I'm mixing that up with another...
