Simple answer first: a poor connection between A and B boards can cause CPS-2 graphics errors. Make sure there’s a good connection between boards, e.g. ensure there’s no gap and use the case clips. Try cleaning the connectors; Deoxit works wonders.

If you're unable to find an original, FYI @Arthrimus designed a 3D printed F3 cart shell. There's a variant for the multi and a variant that's blank.
