MV1B Consolized (Case design)

Hi to all !
After some consolized MVS 1FZ i decided to design and print the case for my MV1B with horizontal mod.
I use also the fantastic mod for memory card and unibios !

Looking good. Regarding to the Vertical to Horizontal adapter. I think it would look much better for the second board to stack on top of the first board like this photos.
It makes the pcb more compact and looks quite nice. You can see the photos that Orthos has done here, they remove the old connectors and soldred new connectors, the case is also very compact

Another option would be these adapters to flatten out the board.

I kind of prefer them since it only requires modification of the main board and leaves the cartridge slot riser stock.

Look professional... the shell seems not 3d printed.. you buy it ?

Yes i really love this one, but need some desoldering work..
I got some problem initially with my adapter, and its damn fragile.

Suggestions to improve the project are welcome.
Feel free to share your ideas, even aesthetic ones.

Anyone know the part numbers for those connectors Orthos used?

Its done
I'm honest and its not perfect (but a kind of for me )

One of the most problem of design a console shell is the printing size.
The printing plate is practically full in both direction (X,Y)





Possible improvements:

Mechanical:
1) Fix slide L-R game slot doors.
2) Better connetion for laterals, with upper and bottom parts.
3) Block for 90° for doors on game slot at closed position.

Optional:
Screws hole for mvs board on bottom plate.

Estetical:
1) Reduce SNK logo
3) Should the door of game slot gold color ? What about laterals ?
4) Any idea ?


Many improvements could be made, but time is not on my side.
If anyone has the pleasure of continuing to improve the project, please write pm me, i can also share the fusion 360 files.




I know its only me to use mini usb connector for video output from MVS to video scaler so what kind output video you use for your console ?

I like the logo HUGE, it's unique and looks great!

I use a RetroTInk 4k for video via a HAS 5.0 Supergun, if that was what you were asking.

i dont own it. this is a photo shared by Orthos. I've thought this is great way to consolize MV1B which make it compact.
I dont see anyone has done something like this yet.

These are similar compact MV1B but these are done by Brian Hargrove.

Man, these consolizations are all seriously awesome! I've got one coming in, although I probably won't be doing too much to it other than the Unibios since my Supergun is shared between a few different things. Would love to make it load vertically like the MV1C, but I'm not too happy that the mod makes the MV1B have an even larger footprint.
