Blast City / Astro City / Astro City 2 / NNC - Restorations

With a quality crimping tool it's made much easier. With a bad tool, crimping is a nightmare! I used to make my own custom PC cabling and in the end I bought a nice but cheap crimper, I've had it way over 10 years and I still use it to this day. It seems it's sold out now, but this was the one...

Yes, CN8 is for front and CN7 is for rear. So if you get output from CN7 (Rear) at the same time as CN8 (Front), then just source an old 4 pin JST NH cable and buy some of those screw terminal RCA jacks and you are good to go.

Blast City / Astro City / Astro City 2 / NNC - Restorations

I've never seen a splitter, I've made all the looms myself needed to capture gameplay footage and sound. Some are not pretty, but they work so I'm happy with that. If you have a soldering iron you could solder wires to RCA jacks yourself or use something like this...

Here's another thing you could try, modify the Amp inside your Blast City PSU so it has EQ settings. I'm not sure what would be involved, but I'd imagine jumper headers and resistors is all it needs? Sorry about the bad pic, but the Amp is tucked under the foot plate which is bolted to the...

The suggestion of bypassing the Blast city AMP, using another amp and another PSU to power that amp is what I'm referring to. I'm not criticising the idea, it's just seems a whole lot of work for not much benefit. The sound on the Blast City is pretty good imo, especially when the speakers...

I use a JST NH cable similar to that to record the sound when I capture Model 3 game footage. Although Sega Rally 2 uses a set of mixers and a DSB2, the theory is basically the same for your scenario, I get my sound from the mixer outputting to the main front speakers, and all you want to do is...

Yes, it connects to CN7 or CN8 on M3 filter board. If it was me, I'd just make a small loom which Connects to CN7 and then splits off into RCA and a JST NH header so you can plug the original Model 3 sound cable into it. Then you are free to use whatever sub you like using the RCA jacks...

I don't know what the end goal is for your cabinets, but with the amount of adapters you will end up requiring to play Dreamcast with added subwoofers etc, it may be better to buy the tools to make custom looms yourself. It's not that hard to make them if you have good tools, correct...

    Virtua Fighter 1 Graphics error

Could be a bad ROM socket? I had a VF2 with a similar missing polygons issue, but it was a reduction in polygons on all charas rather then the issue being located in one section of the screen. The ROM's checked out and the problem followed the ROM board. As a last resort I tried pressing down...

VF3 and your Model 3 loom will give you stereo sound. CN7 or CN8 is stereo output, normally you adjust the sound using the volume dial underneath the control panel. You don't need the mixer board or DSB2 with VF3 using model 3 loom on Blast City. All sounds are generated from the game stack...

DSB2, SoikeOut FE uses it to play the music. VF3 doesn't use it, so disregard that for your situation.

Cool. The Blast City is a very versatile cabinet, multi frequency monitor and the I/O board with the interchangeable looms make it one of the best cabs for multiple systems. It plays everything from Jamma to Lindbergh (If you have the updated PSU with Lindbergh ATM connectors built in). The...
